Winterton Show Enterprise
It's only 3 weeks until the Show and the chance for all cooks/crafters/gardeners etc to show off their talents.
As usual I would encourage the people of Winterton to enter, it's your contributions which make the Enterprise Tent. If you've never entered anything before, please could you consider it? It's great fun and instills a little healthy competition - as an example, last year's bread cup was won by a gentleman, so ladies - would you like to get it back?
This year we have revised the Trophy awards for adult entries and will be awarding as below
Best Chef - most points for baking and jams/chutnies
Bread Cup - Most points for bread
Bell Watson Trophy - best entrant in wines/beer/cider/liqueur
Handicraft cup - most points in the Handicraft Section
Crochet Cup - Best Crochet Work
Best Photo in Winterton Show
Horticulture Cup
Furthermore - we continue with the highly successful class (36) for a hat,a cardigan and a toy for a premature baby, all entries to be donated to the labour ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital. We take babies down to 28 weeks gestation in our unit, they often weigh about 1lb 10oz, normal baby clothes do not fit and are not easy to find. So if you knit or crochet, we would really appreciate you entering this class, which can be entered as a group. Patterns are available online e.g. at https://www.bliss.org.uk/
