The sad thing is ... we are receiving a lot of baby patients with wounds and visible signs of dog attacks. So as well as educating the public we must now turn our educative attention to the expectant hedgehog mothers ...

A very Happy Birthday to our Junior Ambassador Elsie, who recently organised her own fundraising litter pick for our hospital. Elsie raised Β£316 from her efforts and turns 7 today. She hopes to encourage other young people to get involved in fundraising activities to help hedgehogs and the environment. Well done Elsie.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to the receptionists and nurses at The VH Veterinary Hospital in Lincoln. https://www.facebook.com/vhvets.co.uk/ WE made an emergency dash with 2 very poorly hedgehogs yesterday and the professional and dedicated attitude when we arrived was wonderful. The hogs were seen immediately by three nurses and taken into triage while we waited in the nurses room (not in reception). Unfortunately neither of the hogs could be saved and were immediately PTS. One was almost DOA and nothing could be done and the other had a slit in the abdoman which had been there for some time and the infection had spread. The nurses were visibly concerned when they related the news but as is the way more often that not hedgehogs have a way of suffering in silence untill it is too late.. It was a very upsetting experience but we are truly grateful for the expertise of this independent vet who really did understand hedgehogs. We hope we don't have to visit too often but if we do we can be assured that no stone will be left unturned.

Our proudly independent veterinary practice has established itself amongst the local community and now provides care to thousands of pets every year.

🌟 AMAZING UPDATE FROM OUR SPONSORED LITTER PICKER! 🌟

We are absolutely thrilled to share that our wonderful young recently appointed Junior Ambassador has now completed 5 DAYS of sponsored litter picking for Andrews Hedgehog Hospital! πŸŽ‰

She's not stopping there, she's continuing her mission right through to the end of the month! πŸ’ͺ

The Results So Far: βœ… 3 full bin bags of rubbish removed from our local environment βœ… Over Β£200 raised for hedgehog rescue and rehabilitation βœ… Countless hazards removed that could have harmed wildlife

Her Most Interesting Find? A toothpaste tube! 🦷 Alongside loads of v**e boxes, cigarette butts, and plastic bottles, all items that pose serious risks to hedgehogs and other wildlife.

Why This Matters: Every piece of litter picked up is one less danger for our hedgehogs. Plastic, sharp objects, and toxic waste can cause injury, illness, or worse. By keeping our green spaces clean, she's directly helping protect one of Britain's most vulnerable native mammals. πŸ¦”πŸ’š

A Huge Thank You: To everyone who has donated so far, you're making a real difference! And to our incredible young volunteer, your dedication is truly inspiring. We're so proud of you! πŸ™Œ

Help Us Reach Even Further: She's still collecting until the end of the month! If you'd like to sponsor her or learn more about how you can support hedgehog conservation, please message us or visit our donation page.
