🦔⚠️ BONFIRE NIGHT SAFETY WARNING ⚠️🦔

As Bonfire Night approaches, we're urging everyone to check their bonfires and woodpiles BEFORE lighting them.

Hedgehogs are currently preparing for hibernation season, and they love to build cozy nests under wood piles, in sheds, and around garden structures. Unfortunately, this puts them at serious risk when bonfires are lit without checking first.

What you can do:

✅ Give every bonfire a thorough shake-out before lighting
✅ Move bonfire materials to a new location just before burning (hedgehogs won't follow)
✅ Check sheds, garages, and under decking where hedgehogs might shelter
✅ Use a torch to look for eyes reflecting in the darkness
✅ If you find a hedgehog, extinguish the fire and give the animal space

**𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 – 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚 & 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦**

Andrews Hedgehog Hospital is looking for 1 or 2 acres of land to rent on a long-term basis, ideally within reasonable proximity of Brigg.

Our preferred areas include:

📍 Brigg, Scawby, Appleby, Wressle, Broughton and Hibaldstow.

We are looking for a suitable plot of land that could help us expand our wildlife rescue hospital and rehabilitation work.

The land could be pasture, paddock, meadow, woodland or similar. We are open to different possibilities and would consider land that needs some work, with or without existing buildings.

We are happy to discuss terms with landowners and would welcome a secure, long-term arrangement.

**If you have land available, know someone who might, or can point us in the right direction, we would love to hear from you.**

🦔 We’re delighted to introduce three very special members of our charity team.

Erin Briggs, Poppy Dalgleish and Evelyn Jepson have done an outstanding job raising a significant amount of money for our wildlife hospital through an event they organised themselves.

Their enthusiasm, commitment and support for our work have been fantastic, and we’re very pleased to welcome them as **Junior Ambassadors**.

We’re looking forward to seeing what these three young ambassadors get up to next! 🐾

We have an opportunity for a few people to join our volunteer team at the wildlife hospital.

Flexible hours, full training and, of course, the opportunity to get hands-on with some very prickly patients! 🦔🐾

The only experience you need is an interest in helping our local wildlife.

.We cannot thank our supporters enough for their very generous donations of food etc which has enabled us to admit so many sick and injured patients but due to the number of baby hoglets in the hospital we are running short of nappy pads so if anyone would like to help we would be extremely grateful. We also have an amazon wish list which can be reached on our website.

Our junior ambassador has raised £120 from her own handmade jewellery at a recent school fete. This is a remarkable achievement by 7 year old Elsie who is leading the way in encouraging other young people to do something positive for wildlife charities. So much so that in August we will be launching a "Young Achievers Award" where we will be offering incentives to like-minded young people like Elsie who are prepared to make an effort in their own chosen way to support us. Any parents with kiddies who would like to take part can contact us directly for details. Well done Elsie!
