The Winslow and District Community Bus is a registered charity based in Winslow that is overseen by a group of 5 trustees and is driven by volunteer drivers in the local community. The idea for the bus originally came from Thames Valley Police and was officially founded in 2000 after securing funding from the DETR Rural Bus Challenge by Bucks Community Action and Bucks County Council. The 16-seater minibus with wheelchair access serves the town of Winslow and it’s neighbouring villages in Buckinghamshire with 5 scheduled bus services and is also available to hire to all non-profit making community groups in the area at a reasonable cost. We also run our own excursions which in the past have included shopping trips, visits to National Trust properties, local lunches, trips to the seaside and theatre trips.
