National Volunteers Week!

Our thanks to all our Cadet forces adult Volunteers who give up their time on evenings and weekends to run nights and activities for the Cadets. All our Squadron Staff and Cadet Welfare Committee is all made up from Volunteers!

Windermere Air Cadets is currently running on a very small team of Adult Volunteers. So we are looking at new members to join us.

All our volunteers come from varied professional roles. Bringing skills to the unit from these as well as their own experiences and hobbies.

Tonight, the Windermere Air Cadets Squadron CFAV and Cadets turned their hands to horticulture to assist at Windermere Train & Bus Station.

After the success of planting the spring bulbs, we returned to support and plant the beds ready for Armed Force Day celebrations and the Cumbria in Bloom judging in a few weeks.

We'll be back in a few weeks to see the results in Bloom. Can you guess the colours?

Thursday evening was the last of our recent joint parade nights with 1127 Kendal Squadron, Air Training Corps while they've been out of their building.

This weekend two of our Cadets joined 1127 Kendal Squadron, Air Training Corps and 2192 Appleby Grammar School Sqn ATC for a great weekend!

Windermere Air Cadets recently welcomed our latest intake of Cadets to the unit.

The new Cadets got stuck straight into a leadership task led by our senior cadets and staff.

The unit meets on alternate Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and open to any young person above the age 12 years old and in Year 8. Interested in joining the Squadron then drop this page a message or email [email protected].

On Tuesday evening alongside our open evening, Sgt Breakell continued some leadership training for Blue and bronze Cadet.

On final parade the OC presented numerous badges to the Cadets for the hard work put in on their classification and progressive training over the Winter.

Fancy doing something different in 2026!

Recruitment Open Evening-

Please note the change of date to Tuesday 3rd Febuary!

Aged between 12yrs (Must be in Yr8) or under 17yrs and looking for something new to try on a Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We are holding a recruitment evening at Squadron on 3rd Febuary 2025.

Come along and see the activities we do and have a chat with staff and Cadets about the opportunities available with air cadets.
