ABUK Firefly Fund - Launching Soon
We are so happy to introduce ABUK’s Firefly Fund, a project created to bring little moments of light, comfort, support and happiness to SEN families within our community…sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference 🫶🏻
Each month, families will be invited to share a little wish with us.
This could be absolutely anything that would make life a little easier, brighter or more joyful for their child or family.
A practical pair of school shoes.
A sensory item.
Help with something at home.
Helpful equipment.
A special day out.
A confidence boost.
A memory-making moment.
Something small. Something big. Something meaningful.
Every month, one wish will be lovingly chosen and fulfilled through the Firefly Fund.
Families will be able to submit their wishes privately, and all submissions will be treated with kindness, sensitivity and confidentiality. Recipients are always free to share their story, or keep their moment just for themselves.
More details on the official launch date, how families can submit their wish, and how supporters can get involved will be shared soon.
✨ Why Fireflies?
Fireflies may be tiny, but they shine brightly.
To us, they represent hope, comfort, kindness and little moments of magic…the little lights that help guide people through difficult times. That feels a lot like our community. Families supporting families. People showing up for one another. Small acts of kindness creating huge moments of joy.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one little light to remind somebody that they are not alone.
Local businesses, companies, organisations, families and kind hearted individuals will also have the opportunity to sponsor or fulfil a Firefly wish should they wish to become part of the project.
Whether it’s funding a family experience, purchasing an item directly, or simply helping us spread a little kindness, every contribution helps another family feel seen, supported and valued.
