So today, members of the Branch Committee stood out in the changeable weather, manning the Charity car park in the town. It was our first opportunity to do this and raise some funds for the Branch and School. We raised £225- £112:50 to the School and £112:50 for the RBL Branch. Thank you to all those who used the car park and donated and to the Committee members and friends/ branch members who supported. Another great TEAM effort.

The majority of the Branch Committee attended the Annual Royal British Legion Kent County Conference on Saturday in Headcorn. We saw Tracy Bergin our Branch Secretary and Branch Community Supporter pick up an award for her dedication to Branch Community Support and Steve Tracey collected an award for his dedication and support as Club Liaison Officer for the County. Well done to both of them. Troy Close did us proud and carried our new Branch Standard. This was the first time we had such representation at the Conference- great teamwork !

The service and sacrifice of British personnel in Afghanistan cannot be called into question, and we condemn any comments that undermine their extraordinary contribution. 457 British personnel lost their lives in Afghanistan and thousands more and their families now live with the lifelong physical and mental impact from service in that conflict.

The dedication and sacrifices of the men and women in the British Armed Forces from the UK, Commonwealth, and beyond, to protect our freedoms and support our allies deserves our deep and ongoing respect and gratitude.

Our nation’s support for our Armed Forces is never in doubt. The Royal British Legion through our ongoing work to recognise, remember, and support the Armed Forces community, ensures that their unique contribution is not forgotten. This recognition is shared across communities, cultures, and faiths. If you have been affected by current events in the news, please do not hesitate to contact us at the branch or on 0808 802 8080.

Good evening
At last nights Branch meeting, an update was given by the Branch Chairman on the Whitstable RBL Social Club.
This message came direct from Head Office property department.

“ I understand from our project manager that work is due to start at the property in January 2026. There have been significant delays related to engagement with the Local Authority Conservation team, and mechanical and electrical survey work.
I would hope that plans to reopen, target an early Summer date.
It has been painfully slow, but we are getting there”

Your Branch Chairman will continue to request updates on behalf of the Branch members.
