🟥🟨 DOUBLE HEADER ROUND-UP 🟨🟥

A busy afternoon of rugby for Rockcliff, with both sides involved in competitive games against Alnwick 2nd XV and Novocastrians 3rd XV.

The 1st XV were narrowly beaten by visitors, Alnwick 2nd XV, 27-20 in a closely fought contest. It was a tight game throughout, with little to separate the sides, but unfortunately the lads just came up short on the day. Dan Glover was named Man of the Match for the 1st XV for his performance.

The 2nd XV Vikings came out firing, making a strong start and taking an early lead. Novos battled their way back into the game, setting up a tight physical contest. However, the Vikings found another gear in the closing stages to pull away and secure an excellent 43–22 victory. Sam Train was named Man of the Match for the 2nd XV after an excellent display.

Thanks to everyone who came down to the club to support the lads, and we now look forward to next week!

🟥🟨 SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT! 🟨🟥

It’s another busy Saturday at Hillheads, with both senior men sides at home!

The 1st XV are flying high with three wins from three in the league and will be looking to keep that momentum going as they welcome Alnwick 2nd XV.

In what will be a first in the club’s history, we take on another club’s second team for the first time following the new league structure. It’ll be an exciting and intriguing test, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.

The 2nd XV Vikings also take on Novocastrians 3rd XV in a friendly, ahead of the two sides meeting again in league action later this season.

🟥🟨 WEEKEND PREVIEW 🟨🟥

Another busy weekend of rugby is coming up at Rockcliff, with plenty to look forward to across the club, starting with a double header at Hillheads on Saturday!

The Men’s 1st XV are flying high after three wins from three in the league and will be hoping to make it four on the bounce this Saturday against Alnwick.

We’ll also be hosting our two-course President’s Lunch at 2pm on Saturday, with tickets available for £15. A great opportunity to enjoy some food and build up to the afternoon’s rugby!

The 2nd XV Vikings are also in action, having arranged a merit game against Novos 3s. It’s a great opportunity to get some valuable game time under their belts and build momentum before the two teams meet in the league later on this season.

Sunday is all about our age-grade rugby, with loads of action to look forward to across the junior sections. It’s always great to see so much rugby taking place across the club, and we’re looking forward to another busy weekend of rugby!!
