As we prepare to go back to school tomorrow, we thought it was time to give the adults something to look forward to!

Join us in the school hall from 7pm for our next quiz night, raising money for our phonics and guided reading library.

Mr Ward will be our quizmaster for the evening and, in line with our Year of Reading fundraising campaign, he'll be testing our literary knowledge.

Whitley Bay Pizza Co will also be serving pizza from 6pm.

Tickets cost £5 per person, or £20 including a pizza and pint or glass of fizz.

Your are welcome to bring your own drinks.

Make up a team of up to 6 players, or create a team on the night.

‼️‼️‼️ PLEASE READ ‼️‼️‼️
For the last four years we've hosted school meet-ups for little ones heading into reception or school nursery, giving children and parents the chance to meet, connect, and make those first-day nerves a little easier for everyone. 🌟
Last year over 50 schools were involved, with teachers, headteachers and PTA members getting in touch to share the meet-ups with their new starters and join us themselves. The response was incredible and we loved seeing so many new friendships form before the school gates even opened!
This year we want to make it even bigger and better, and we're starting early to spread the word.
This year we need YOU! 🫵
👉 Like and share this post with anyone who has a little one starting school this year
👉 Share with anyone who has links to schools who can help spread the word
👉 Comment below with the schools you'd love to see a meet-up for
👉 If you're a teacher or school staff member who'd like to get involved, please DM us!
The more people we can reach, the better the experience for the children. Let's make this the best year yet! 🎒✨
I can't wait to hear from you all,
Amy 🌸

What a fantastic way to start Spring 🌸

Thanks to the love shown by Mrs Coombs, this little garden offers our children a calming space and fantastic additional learning environment.

We were so sad when she retired last year, and knew we couldn’t let her down by letting the space she looked after so well go to ruin.

With the help of some wonderful helpers, we gave the area a good tidy up this weekend and it’s now ready for some spring planting.

🪏Who wants to be part of the next phase of our little gardening club?

Our volunteer sign up form allows you to be part of Friends of Langley in whatever way suits you best.

It might not be gardening, you might have a few hours to spare to help out at a disco or the summer fair. Or maybe you’re really good at wrapping presents?!

Whatever time you have to spare, there’s a way to be involved.

It was great to see so many families getting stuck in to support us, and together we’ve done a great job ❤️

Today is a happy occasion for many, but we know for some it can be one of the hardest days of the year.

Whether you're celebrating or remembering today - or a little bit of both - we hope you're able to make some time for your self.

The phrase 'it takes a village' is there for a reason, and we couldn't be prouder of the village we're part of here at Langley ❤️

To all of our mothering community - m**s, grandmas, aunties and everyone else who makes up our village - Happy Mother's Day!

We’re also excited to reveal our FIRST PRIZE 👀✨
A fantastic family experience, plus a perfectly matched book to keep the adventure going at home.

“I’m going all in on cats!” 🐾📚

As part of the Big Langley Read, we invited our teachers to recommend a book. And, for Miss Anderson, it’s all about cats.

I love my kittens, even when they’re cheeky and FukuFuku reminds me so much of them! It’s a gentle, funny story about a mischievous kitten and the owner who can never quite stay cross.

If you’d like to take a look, you can find FukuFuku on Kindle Unlimited here:

If you love animals (or know how hard it is to stay mad at a kitten!), this could be your next favourite read.

What are you going all in on this week?

And if you read FukuFuku don’t forget to tick it off your reading challenge card ✅
