As another school year comes to an end, we’re reflecting on a year that none of us will ever forget.
What started as an ordinary school year quickly became one that tested our community. Faced with the proposed closure of our school, we came together to stand up for what we believed was right. In doing so, our children saw the importance of finding their voice, showing resilience and standing up for what matters - values that have always been at the heart of Langley ❤️
Throughout it all, we remained positive, releasing our first song and looking after one another with sunrise sea dips 🌅
From meeting local councillors to taking our campaign to BBC Question Time, park runs, fundraising and countless community initiatives, everyone played their part in giving our children a voice. 📢
The best Christmas present came when the proposed closure was paused, following the incredible response from our community. By speaking up, asking questions and standing together, we showed just how much Langley means to so many people and gave ourselves the opportunity to continue working towards a future where our children can continue their Langley education ❤️
Alongside the campaign, our community continued to do what it has always done best. We organised quizzes, discos, wreath making, bauble painting, open days, the summer fair and so much more. Every event, every volunteer and every act of support helped fund school trips, pantomimes, new library books, iPads and opportunities that will benefit our children for years to come.
This year has reminded us how lucky we are to be part of such an incredible community. Thank you to everyone who stood beside Langley, supported one another and gave your time, energy and voice.
We wouldn’t wish the year we’ve had on anyone, but it has brought our community even closer and made us stronger than ever.
