Don't let the spooky weather scare you off! Our FREE accessible beach equipment is still available to help everyone enjoy some fresh air, beautiful views and a little seaside adventure. ♿️

Whether you're blowing away the cobwebs, chasing the last of the autumn sunshine or simply enjoying a change of scenery, there's no need to let mobility challenges keep you away from the beach.

Fancy getting onto the sand rather than just looking at it from the promenade? At Roker beach you can hire free accessible beach equipment from Beach Access North East.

📍 Find us near the Marine Activities Centre.

🌊 A little tip: Roker is very tide-dependent, and when the tide is high there can be very little beach available — so it’s worth checking the tide before setting off!

📍 Where to find us:
Our blue BANE container is at the bottom of the ramp at the south end of Tynemouth Longsands, right beside Crusoe’s. There are also three designated disabled parking spaces next to the container.

💙The beach chair that helped make GCSE coursework possible

Recently, we loaned a beach wheelchair to a Year 11 pupil so they could complete their GCSE coursework. But this was so much more than coursework. It was an incredibly emotional day for the pupil and their teachers. 🥹❤️ 🌊

Because this is what Beach Access North East is all about. It’s not just about lending equipment. It’s about giving people the opportunity to experience the beach, make memories and be included. 💙🏖️
