Our next open day at Gore Grange Care and Wellbeing Centre is fast approaching!
We know that when it comes to day care for a loved one, the decisions to be made can feel overwhelming and scary. We're here to support you and answer any questions you may have.

The first thing we encourage you to do, is to visit our centre to see for yourself the continuity of care we offer our clients, including those living with dementia or requiring specialist support.
Visitors can participate in activities, take a tour and ask the centre manager any questions they may have.

Our digital skills sessions have been taking a break over the summer but we are pleased to share they will be restarting next Wednesday 9th September.

The 1-2-1 sessions are designed to help guide and inform you about using everyday technology safely and with confidence. Whether that's a smart phone, tablet or laptop our team can give you a simple how to and answer any questions you may have.

Meet Arlene!

Arlene is our Senior Support Worker at Horrill Care and Wellbeing Centre and the face behind all the lovely posts on their page; sharing what the team and clients get up to day-to-day in our later life & dementia day care centre in Dibden/Hythe.

Whilst she's been with us for some time, Arlene has recently stepped in to a more senior role and is (amongst many other things) responsible for planning and leading meaningful physical and cognitive activities which positively support our clients, including those living with dementia.

"I've been working at The Horrill for 5 and a half years and I adore my role. To see the difference that we make to our clients lives is wonderful. Whether we are playing musical instruments, testing our trivia knowledge, singing karaoke, creating new art displays or playing a competitive game of category shout, we always have so much fun. It's beautiful to see the clients nurture some fabulous new friendships. I feel the work we do is vital to the community and so incredibly rewarding to staff and clients alike."

We couldn't agree more, Arlene. Thank you for being a shining star and showing up with so much joy every day!

It was all aboard last week as residents of our Totton & Fordingbridge social groups took to the seas on the Alison MacGregor boat from Hythe marina.

A lovely day out with everyone getting the chance to drive the boat followed by tea and brownies on board.

Could you make a real difference in someone’s day?

We’re looking for a Home Helper in the Basingstoke area to join Age Concern Hampshire’s Help at Home service.

As a Home Helper, you’ll support older people to stay independent and enjoy life at home. From helping with shopping, laundry and light meals to collecting prescriptions and providing a friendly bit of companionship, it’s the small things that can make a big difference.

✨ Flexible working
💷 £14.50 per hour
📍 Basingstoke and surrounding areas
🤝 Self-employed, part-time, flexible role

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, trustworthy and a great listener. Experience in cleaning or caring is essential, but what really matters is having a genuine desire to improve the lives of older people.

You’ll need a full driving licence, your own transport and an enhanced DBS check.
