The Friary The Friary is a UK registered charity which seeks to empower homeless and disadvantaged individuals. https://linktr.ee/thefriarydropin

Since 1988, at the Friary we have been delivering life changing advice, health and support services to many thousands of local people and we remain an integral part of the support system for homeless people in the Nottingham area. Those who are not actively homeless will be in some form of accommodation but may be vulnerably housed and therefore at risk of homelessness. For those individuals, our

focus is on providing supportive early interventions which prevent homelessness from occurring. Service users' support needs are often complex and relate to housing, sometimes substance misuse, poor mental health, long term unemployment, social isolation and debt; they are usually in poor physical condition, have few friends and family and have entrenched low self-esteem and confidence issues. Our fundamental aim is to give people the time and space in their lives that allows them to make healthy and informed decisions about their future.

You can now purchase and donate our most urgently needed items directly through our online store with Give Today here:

Right now, we are particularly short of essentials like corned beef, boxers, and baked beans.

How it works:
You can order the specific items we need directly through the store, which we keep updated with the stock we are running low on.

Give Today then holds onto everyone's online purchases and delivers them straight to us in one single, organised van delivery on a pre-arranged day. This saves our volunteers a massive amount of time sorting through donations, and ensures we get the exact stock we need most to help homeless and vulnerable people in our community.

Recently a group from the Friary went on a trip to Newark to board the Newark Crusader. We had a lovely tour down the river, led by the knowledgable volunteers, and then headed to Sconce and Devon Park to have a little picnic and walk in the nature

Thank you to the Newark Crusader volunteers, to Paul for driving the minibus and getting us there and back in one piece, and to St Paul's - Boundary Road for their use of the minibus :)
