🔨 Local Building Contractors Wanted 🔨

Welwyn Parish Council is looking to hear from local building contractors who are interested in quoting for a range of small building and maintenance projects across the parish.

Projects may include:
• Relaying paving slabs and pathways
• Repairs to brick and flint walls
• Rebuilding damaged walls
• Installation of public benches and other street furniture
• Other small general building works as required

If you are a local contractor with experience in these types of projects, we'd love to hear from you.

Welwyn Parish Council is pleased to confirm that the defibrillator cabinet outside Rodi's, 1 Church Street, has now been replaced and the defibrillator is once again available for use in an emergency.

If you are ever faced with a medical emergency where a defibrillator may be needed, always call 999 first. The ambulance service will assess the situation, provide lifesaving instructions and, if appropriate, give you the access code for your nearest cabinet.

We hope this is never needed, but we are pleased that this important community lifesaving asset is back in service.

💧Stay Hydrated 💧

We're delighted to let residents and visitors know that Welwyn Parish Council has installed a new drinking fountain at the Pavilion, Welwyn Playing Fields.

Whether you're out enjoying the playground, taking part in or watching sport, walking the dog or simply enjoying time outside you can now top up your reusable water bottle or grab a refreshing drink.

The new refill station is part of our commitment to improving facilities for everyone who uses the playing field while helping to reduce single-use plastic bottles.

Next time you're visiting the Playing Fields don't forget to bring your reusable water bottle and make use of the new facility! 💙♻

Join us for what could be an unforgettable evening at The Civic Centre as England edge closer to the World Cup final. If the boys bring home a win against Argentina on Wednesday, we’ll be opening our doors for a family‑friendly viewing of the final on Sunday — and we’d love to have you with us.

Tickets are £10 per family (2 adults and up to 4 children), making it a great, affordable night out. Bring along your own food and drinks to enjoy, and we’ll have popcorn, candy floss, and a selection of children’s activities to keep little ones entertained throughout the evening.

Come together with friends, neighbours, and fellow fans to cheer England on. It’s set to be a fun, relaxed community event — and possibly a very memorable night.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is consulting on proposed parking restrictions in Welwyn West, including double yellow lines at key junctions.

Members of the public are invited to feedback on the consultation which is open until the 4th June.
