CLP Arts & Crafts Courses

We are thrilled to announce the winner of the Kids Art Idea competition.
We asked for ideas for a fun project, that would be added to the Xmas family art workshop that Sharon will teach here at St Martin's, just outside Watford, on Saturday 28th November from 10am to 1pm.
Betty, a huge Formula One fan, gave us a very detailed and well thought out project to make felt banners. She suggested these could really be personalised in the way that she had done with her example. We think you'll agree it's a great idea and she is the worthy winner of the prize of art supplies. Her idea has been incorporated into the session by Sharon and those attending will be able to make their own versions.
Another suggestion was particularly liked by us. Georgie had a couple of great suggestions, so we'd like to reward her with a little arty treat. Her suggestions might be incorporated into next year's Xmas course.
Well done to everyone who entered and thank you for your fabulous ideas.
To book your place on the workshop go to: https://www.cognitoforms.com/CLPSouthOxhey/CLP2026FamilyXmasWorkshop
The cost is £35 for one adult and up to 2 children. All resources are included, as well as refreshments.

Edited to add the links you need to book! Sorry folks 😟

Recently we asked which of 3 new workshops you might be interested in attending here at St Martin's, just outside Watford. The response was overwhelming - you wanted all 3!
So, here they are:
* Two fun clay workshops that include full step-by-step teaching from artist and qualified teacher Sharon, all materials and refreshments. They are both in the evening, to allow as many of you as possible to attend outside daytime working hours. You'll be sent home with resources to varnish your creations when they are completely dry.
* The relaxing, mindful Kinusaiga workshop will run on a Saturday morning and, of course, you can expect clear step-by-step teaching from qualified teacher Helen and all materials. You can decide what image you use for your work. We have some options, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. If you have scraps of fabric at home that you'd particularly like to use we'd love you to bring that to include in your artwork (this is a great way to use those snippets of ditsy Liberty prints you've refused to throw away for instance!).
Places on these three full-cost adult workshops is strictly limited. If you want to attend, don't delay.
To book go to: https://www.cognitoforms.com/CLPSouthOxhey/FCRClayCLP or

As this is a full-cost workshop we are unfortunately unable to offer any discounts. Community Learning Partnership is a registered charity no. 1155750.

Thank you to those lovely ladies who came along on Saturday to help us knit and crochet poppies for the display we are creating for the Harlequin Centre. It was great fun.
It's not too late to help. We can accept poppies up until Friday 23rd October and we'd love loads more please!
We have yarn and patterns here at St Martin's, Muirfield Road, WD19 6JD if you need any. You can collect when you are here for a craft session or lesson or give us a ring to check there's someone here outside of those times on 020 84215544.

Over the summer, new CLP tutor Christian ran a one-day cyanotype workshop here at St Martin's. The learners loved it so much that they lobbied Eliz, our CEO, for more opportunities to try this exciting printing technique.
We've managed to schedule this course in between events on Saturdays so that you can attend if you work during the week.
The course is heavily subsidised by Hertfordshire Community Foundation, meaning the whole course is just £30. All materials are provided and you can bring in your own items of ephemera (photo negatives, feathers, foliage, lace etc) to use in your prints.
You just need to bring your own lunch (no nuts please) and an apron or wear old clothes as you'll be using chemicals as part of this process.
Priority will go to Herts learners, but any adult may apply.

Would you be interested in joining a Whatsapp group of volunteers who help CLP at events and projects?
The group is only used to share information about volunteering opportunities, so there's no funnies to make your phone busy!
The group of fantastic volunteers helps at events here and at other venues, including the Harlequin Centre and helps craft things for us to sell and for displays. Some come in regularly to help with particular projects and others help at events. Whether you have an hour or two a week to spare or would prefer to help at one-off events, we'd love you to join us.
Please follow this link to give us your details. If you prefer to volunteer and would rather not join the Whatsapp group just let us know on the form.
