Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! 🏳️‍⚧️

We are marking today by raising the Transgender flag outside the Civic Offices. At Full Council in January, Hertsmere Borough Council approved a motion reaffirming its support for LGBTQ+ residents, including trans and non-binary people. It confirms that discrimination is not tolerated in Hertsmere, that the council will signpost information on reporting hate crime, and continue building on partnership work that promotes LGBTQ+ inclusion.

Hertsmere Borough Council can make reports on behalf of victims who do not want to go directly to the police. Visit our website to report a hate crime: https://www.hertsmere.gov.uk/community/community-safety/report-hate-crime

After an amazing night with Gaydio at the 2026 Awards.
Our own Andrew Waite was nominated and a finalist as "Volunteer of the Year".
For us, he has been a leading light, creating the charity, forming a Board and having the insight to build Impactful Lives from zero to currently providing six monthly LGBTQ+ social groups and additional support projects on more serious issues. On top of that, he established Watford Pride Picnic which had 353 attendees last year plus our annual Winter Rainbows event also in it's third year along with Watford Pride (FREE) Picnic
He is seen as a force for change for us and works tirelessly to support our charity during evenings, weekends and daytime whilst also working full time in a complimentary role that first identified the need for our unique charity.
He works with other Trustees for free, works with and supports our volunteers and part time staff.
The outcome for us is a true winner and we have no doubt that others will realise just how much he has personally and collectively done for so many individuals and their families despite some resistance and hostility. He made us a Third Party Reporting Centre for LGBTQ+ Hate Crimes whilst in his day job deals with Domestic Abuse and Unpaid Carers support.
Keep going Andrew, we are behind you as you have been for everyone else.
Best of luck to future Awards, once they realise your value.

We were successful in our work with the National Lottery in June and have been able to secure our new project "Impactful Futures" until May 2028.

This is exciting progress and for the last few months, we have been putting the pieces together to include a range of services and staff/volunteers to support the delivery of this project.

We will be continuing our work in Hertfordshire and with Hertfordshire County Council and other partnership including Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust to ensure that all LGBTQ+ people are able to access public services and our community support... plus we do loads of fun activities in partnership with Impactful Lives so why not check out the group or visit the website https://il-org.uk or our specialist projects and research at https://ig-cic.org.uk - it is finally an "Impactful Future" and we are all "Healthier Together".
