Contract Opportunity

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Workshop Assistant to help out at a collage workshop this October in Bethnal Green.

It’s a one-day Bllack History Month creative event, supporting participants as they explore collage and make their own work. We’d love to hear from local art students, creatives, makers, or anyone with an enthusiasm for art and community workshops.

There may also be opportunities to work with us on future projects.

My journey to Peterborough was meant to be brief but with an early start and a hungry belly, Mum and I had to eat.
A short drive from Orton Maldron led us to a shopping centre (right next to ASDA - free car park, yeyyy!)

Rivergate Shopping Centre, Peterborough, features eateries and cafes including the popular Fratelli's Italian.
But (wait for it!! ), my joy increased when we found "Joys African Cuisine ", ready to serve us the quintessential Saturday breakfast; "Akara and Pap. I hadn't had that in ages. Joy, the proprietor, caterer, event planner, cake maker and authoring business woman, was very hands on and welcoming. The food was just what Mum and I needed after a long drive from home.

The images show other interesting shops we found with our full bellies. The highlight for us was Simply Fabrics with affordable fabrics and trimmings. Needless to say, some came home to join the mound of untouched materials still waiting for Mum and I to sew.

Our journey home was not uneventful.
We decided on a brief (one hour) detour through Cambridge, to see the university and city sights!
As we Nigerians say, i "missed road oh" and we didnt get to see them at all. Instead we had a brief calming stroll in the Jubillee Gardens before embarking on what seemed to be a forever B road, village filled route back home. Google Maps next time do better!
All in all, we had a great day.. Having worked in Cambridge before, I know there is a lot to see. Will definitely make a heritsge focused trip to Peterborough soon. There must be a lot to learn. Any tips, recommendations and ideas?
