Do join St Leonard's for their nature trail around the churchyard on Sunday 14th June. Thank you so much to Oxfordshire Community Foundation for inviting us to their celebratory event for grantees and funders. It was really inspiring to meet other organisations who have also received a grant from the Thriving in Nature programme. Thank you to all the team from OCF and their funders!

OCF brings together grantees and funders for shared learning 🫶

Our innovative Thriving in Nature Fund, now in its third year, gave us the opportunity to bring together grantees and funders from the previous two grants rounds for a day of learning, discussion and connection.

In the beautiful setting of Asthall Manor representatives of charitable organisations shared how funding is being used, how projects are developing over time, and the changes they are seeing in the people they support.

Shabnam from Sunrise Multicultural Project in Banbury shared:

🗣️ “Our outdoor trips have been a key highlight. We had a visit to Wendover Woods which brought together 48 participants. For many of those people, it’s basically the first time they’ve ever accessed that sort of natural outdoor space.”

We also heard from funders - individuals, trusts and businesses - about why they chose to support the Thriving in Nature Fund. As well as a donor into the fund, we are hugely grateful to RWK Goodman for sponsoring the event.

Huge thanks to Root One who are celebrating their 25th anniversary and are so generously supporting us over the bank holiday weekend with a tombola and Grand Draw!

Special thanks to Jeremy for thinking of us and for his support today with the tombola.

And thanks to all Root One customers who stopped by and bought tickets for the draw or span the tombola. Lots of happy prize winners walking away with fantastic prizes donated from Root One's suppliers.

Wow - it's been a hot one! ☀️

It was lovely to offer a spot to cool off in the shade of the gazebo. Some wonderful art work and interesting conversations.

Robins were the bird of the day - clearly not just for Christmas! 💚

❗Please don't feed the red kites!

Last year the Wallingford Red Kite Trail formed part of our awareness campaign about the importance of not feeding Red Kites.

As majestic as they are, these birds are now associating people with feeding, leading to swooping behaviour in gardens and public spaces.

Alongside the trail, we launched a campaign of informational posters and leaflets. Leaflets were dropped door to door - and we focused on areas where we had heard feeding was taking place. Our volunteers also had some helpful doorstep conversations.

For more information visit:

We're working with Natural England, British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) and local wildlife groups to bring together further guidelines to lessen harmful interactions.

Join us for our next gardening session at Wallingford Library! We will be there from 10-12 this coming Friday 15th May. We've got some lovely plants for the back raised beds, including a young Cotinus and Spiraea, some ferns and some seeds including Nasturtiums and woodland sage.

This is a partnership project with Wallingford Library and Incredible Edible Wallingford / Wallingford Grapevine.
