Winter is coming… although someone forgot to tell the bandroom last night! 🥵❄️😂

A few players are still away enjoying the summer holidays, so some of our Brass Roots members joined Crofton Training Band for a joint rehearsal.

It was their first time sitting in with Training Band, and they did brilliantly!

Here’s everyone having their very first go at Game of Thrones together.

Some good news for CMT! 🎉

We’ve received funding through Wakefield Council’s Neighbourhood Improvement Fund, which will help towards the costs of keeping our work running here in the local community.

We’re really grateful to our Ward 7 councillors and Neighbourhood Coordinators for supporting our application and the work we’re doing.

Last weekend we headed down to collect a generous donation of instruments from Rushden Windmill Band.

After many years of making music together, the band recently made the difficult decision to disband. They wanted their instruments to continue being played and we’re incredibly grateful they’ve chosen Crofton Music Trust to help make that happen.

Thank you to everyone at Rushden Windmill Band for such a generous gift. We’ll do our very best to make sure these instruments continue making music for many years to come. 🎵

We’re looking for new players to join Crofton Training Band!

Whether you’re returning to brass banding or looking to continue developing your playing, we’d love to welcome you.

We rehearse every Thursday, 6.30–7.45pm in Fitzwilliam, West Yorkshire, with upcoming performance opportunities and a close musical link with Crofton Silver Band, a First Section brass band.

All brass instruments are welcome.
