Focus Youth Project - Employability Programme.

The young people on the Employability programme are learning new life skills, cooking a variety of dishes in the kitchen.

The group have also been involved in Trinity College Arts Award making shields for their award.

Some members have been involved in voluntary work, learning how to operate a petrol lawn mower and strimmer. Doing a good job for some members of the Viewpark Community.

Four of the members have been involved in the SVQF Level 4 Work Placement Module, developing their working skills in preparation for college course.

Well done to all the young people of the Focus Youth Project who recently attended our Annual Presentation Night to celebrate their achievements over the last year.

The young people successfully completed 244 new and accredited qualifications in:
First Aid
Skiing
Snowboarding
Sailing
Nicas Rock climbing level 1,2,3
Paddleboarding
Kayaking
Powerboating level 1&2
Emergency First Aid at Work -3 Yr course
Saltire Awards
Trinity College Arts Awards
Trinity College Rock Awards
CSCS card
Health and Safety in Construction Environment.

Many thanks to our invited guests - Councillor Helen Loughran, Councillor Pat Patton, Councillor Barry Mccluskey, Geraldine Woods- Convenor of Communities -NLC, Ann McCrory- Vice Convener of Education -NLC, Stephen Rees from Patersons Quarries, Robert Sloan-Community Learning and Development Officer -NLC, Bob Campbell-First Aid Options and the Focus Trustees.

Well done to all the young people from the Focus Youth Project who recently completed the BASI Beginners Ski and Snowboarding Course at Mid Lothian Ski Centre.⛷️🏂

Our Skiers were Poppy, Lacey, Alfie, Blake, Maddison, Lily, Ellise, Bobbie, Eve, Derri, Holly, Mathew.

And our Snowboarders were: Jackson, Alex, Emily, Jennifer, Molly, Kayden, Corey and Zayne.

We would like to thank Tesco Uddingston and all of their customers for giving some of The Focus Youth Projects' Junior Focus Committee the chance to bag pack. We raised £470 for new equipment/resources for our youth groups.
