🌱 Our May funding window is open!

Over the past year, we’ve seen a huge increase in applications, which is both encouraging and a reflection of how challenging the funding landscape has become.

To help create a clearer fit and give applicants a stronger chance of success, we’re taking a slightly different approach this round 👇

Theme: Creative Action for Nature: (Devon)

We’re looking to support projects in Devon that use creative approaches to engage and inspire young people to connect with environmental issues and take action.

From art and storytelling to film, workshops and community projects, we’re interested in ideas that build connection, spark curiosity and create real impact.

If you’re working at the intersection of creativity, young people and the environment, we’d love to hear from you.

🗓 Deadline: 12 noon, 26th June 2026

The Naturesave Trust team met for our AGM at the beautiful Dartington Hall this week, which made a change from our usual online sessions! We are lucky to have District Councillor Georgina Allen on our Board of Trustees, who gave us a tour around the estate. The bar has been set very high for the next AGM!

We're so thrilled to support this incredible project to increase bus services to National Parks. This is such a great way to get more people out in nature and connected to their local parks! 🚌

Where are the Sunday buses? 🚌

Generously funded by The Naturesave Trust and in partnership with Exmoor Society & Dartmoor Preservation Association, our Green Route to National Parks project will raise awareness of the lack of Sunday bus services in Exmoor & Dartmoor National Parks to increase the use of bus services currently available and campaign for significant improvements to Sunday bus services.

It's and what better time than to show our appreciation to all of the projects who apply to us.

It is so wonderful to see how many brilliant humans are out there making a big change in their communities through kindness, connection, compassion, and care. We are honoured to be able to fund such worthy causes!

In the spirit of kindness, we have also made a big change to our application process. We know that projects are limited on time and resources, and that applying to funds takes time and energy. Our previous form was long and cumbersome so we redesigned it to make it quick and easy for projects to express an interest. We launched this new form in October, so far it seems to be going well!

The theme for our current funding window is biodiversity and the deadline is 12 noon on 27th November. If you have a project that fits the theme, apply here! https://www.naturesave.co.uk/naturesave-trust/apply-to-the-naturesave-trust/

The October - November funding window is open and the theme is biodiversity.

In 2022, the UK made a formal commitment to protect and conserve a minimum of 30% of land and sea for biodiversity by 2030, known as 30x30. This target is a key driver in reversing the decline of nature in the UK, by expanding and improving protected areas and creating new areas for wildlife, allowing nature to spill over into the wider landscape.

These wildlife-rich areas also have benefits for people, by providing clean air and water, healthy soils, beautiful places to visit both within the town and wider countryside; and bolstering our resilience to climate change.
Biodiversity is essential for the processes that support all life on Earth, including humans. Without a wide range of animals, plants and microorganisms, we cannot have the healthy ecosystems that we rely on to provide us with the air we breathe and the food we eat.

We are looking for grant applications from charities, community groups, and organisations who are working to boost biodiversity through:

🎭 Pollinator plans
🥬 Habitat restoration
🏃 Hedgerow management
😟 Wildlife gardens
🪏 Pesticide alternatives
🙋 Conservation volunteering
🌳 Education
🫶 Influencing local councils
👩‍🦽‍➡️ Citizen science
🦉 Community wildlife surveys

Or perhaps you have a biodiversity initiative that we haven't even considered! If you have a completely new approach to improving biodiversity, then we are all ears.

The deadline for this funding window is 12 noon on 27th November 2025.

Naturesave has had a fresh new update!

We are super excited to reveal the new Naturesave look, a refreshed logo in softer colours and a simpler aesthetic.

We also have a lovely new website which is currently undergoing some updates - this means that the September funding window will be slightly delayed while we work on those pages.

We will send out a newsletter as soon as the window opens, sign up here to receive it! https://mailchi.mp/naturesavetrust/links Naturesave Insurance Brokers

We had a great time at networking event earlier this week. It was fantastic to meet other local organisations and find out more about the amazing work carried out at the Dartington nursery.

were the recipient of our largest grant ever last year, which went towards the purchase of a truck to help with transporting tools, equipment, trees, and volunteers to sites around Dartmoor. Was great to see it in person!

We are super excited to join them on their upcoming walks and look forward to getting stuck in to some volunteering at the nursery!

A new fleet of hireable electric bikes will be available on the streets of Totnes in June.

The new “Catbikes” are being introduced as part of South Hams District Council’s commitment to promote cycling, contributing to its ambitions of tackling climate change and supporting community services that improve the lives of our residents. The bikes will provide people visiting and living in Totnes the chance to travel around the town and surrounding areas in a greener, more sustainable way.

If you’d like to find out more about the e-bikes, South Hams District Council will have representatives showing off the bikes at the Transition Town Totnes’ Energy Wise and Eco-Homes Show at Totnes Civic Hall on Sunday 11 May, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
