Transition Streets is a tried and tested project to bring neighbours together to create more caring, sharing and connected streets that reduce our impact on the environment and reduce the cost of living through taking practical action. In these times we need connection more than ever. Knowing and forming relationships with our neighbours is strongly linked to greater health and happiness and can e

mpower us to take collective action. In the project neighbours form groups of 6-8 households who meet together to explore a range of topics including energy use, food, travel, water and resource use. As well as looking at their own household and behaviours, groups consider collective ways of sharing more, caring for each other, reducing their environmental impact and making more connections in their streets. The results are often wonderful and unexpected with new friendships formed, support groups established, neighbourhood projects created and big savings on household bills and carbon.
