Today is a very exciting day for those who love the stars and space 🪐🔭💫⭐

we have the solar eclipse starting 6.17 pm peaking at 7.14 pm and finishing 8.08pm with 94.6% coverage we are super lucky to live where we do.

And on top of all this excitement the Perseids meteor shower also peaks tonight and you could see up too as many as 150 shooting stars 🌠 per hour in the right place

We would love to see some photos of you set up to watch these exciting events when we get back to meetings the next eclipse won't happen in the UK until 2090 I'll be 100 😱 how old will you be ?

Hope your all having a great holiday?! With the looming solar eclipse which is really exciting we know how hard it has been to get hold of the special glasses so here is a great and safe way of viewing the eclipse please don't watch it directly this can be very bad for your eyes and cause lots of damage.

Parents… don’t miss this!
From TODAY, children aged 5 to 15 can travel on the bus for FREE throughout August. 🚌

That means unlimited free journeys on participating local bus services across England until 31 August.

If you’re planning days out over the school holidays, this could save you a fair bit of money.

Torrington girl guides finished their last week of term up with a. Walk along the tarka trail they completed approx 3 miles back and took Penelope out for her first adventure. She really enjoyed watching the birds on the river with our unit leader.

Torrington Brownies spent there last week doing a scavenger hunt around torrington commons some great drawings there too. Well done girls we are so lucky to have had the weather on our side the last couple of weeks and being able to make the most of beautiful community areas.

Good morning, our apologies for being a little quiet, we have been very busy with end of term activities and our bingo night.

So... Bingo night what an absolutely amazing night it was! We have been blown away with the support from the community both locally and further away we really hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great night we are proud to say that all your support helped us to raise a huge £713.50 and we could not be more grateful. This money will go towards our rents and activities for the girls to enjoy like big gig at the end of this year.

A big thank you to all the people who helped us pull this night together and make it run smoothly we appreciate all of your help ❤️

🧦 Sock Puppet Fun! 🧦

On Wednesday night our high bickington Rainbows and Brownies put their creativity to the test as they designed and made their own sock puppet creatures!

Each puppet was completely unique, showing just how imaginative the girls can be. We had lots of fun creating different characters and are looking forward to bringing them to life in our puppet activities over the next few weeks.

This activity contributed towards our UMA (Unit Meeting Activity) and a challenge badge.
