Bideford Rotary commemorate Graham Braddick, who passed away two years ago today.
He was a member of our club for 57 years and never left home without wearing his Rotary badge.
He was also an avid supporter of the Devon Air Ambulance and so in the light of their funds needing a lot of help right now, I wondered if you would consider donating to this amazing charity and help to keep them flying in our skies for many years to come 🤗 🚁

SUSAN COLLINS RIP 1946 -2026 We sadly will miss Susan Collins who died very suddenly after collapsing at the Appledore Book Festival.

Susan was a dedicated Rotarian who helped on Children’s Fun Day at the Appledore Festival on the Saturday pictured here dancing with Children at the Flame Factory. As a Rotarian she helped to raise money for local organisations and Shelter Box and was involved in the Bideford Water Festival.

A former Northam Town Councillor Susan was a dedicated Conservative campaigned locally for Geoffrey Cox and other candidates and stood as a herself for Torridge District Council in 2023.

Many will know her from playing canasta and attending U3A functions. She was always ready with a question or a comment at meetings. A real lady who was always willing to help, she had recently moved from Abbotsham to Northam and was recently proudly showing her friends the changes she was making in her garden.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to her sister and family, she is a lady who will be sorely missed.💔

We had another brilliant speaker last night with Geoff Hocking of Ice Cream fame telling us all about his family history. Starting with fabulous stories from his great grandfather, grandfather and father in Appledore in the days of boats, ketches, bus companies and eventually to making ice cream and how the business began and has thrived from the 1930’s which included the whole family including aunties, brothers, sisters and up to the present generation.
Thank you Geoff for a fabulous evening of history and humour.

Today we had the pleasure of receiving our guest speaker Andy Cox Trustee of Harbour Community who are based in Queen Street Bideford.
He enlightened us on the running of this wonderful charity which is in the centre of Bideford.
It is run predominantly by volunteers who help those with needs for a hot meal, clothes, shelter and a safe space to be.
