Kingsley Association Ex Pupils' Association for Kingsley School, Grenville College, Stella Maris School and Edgehill College

The Kingsley Association was formed from the Grenville
Association (incorporating the Stella Maris old Girls Association) when Grenville College merged with Edgehill College in 2009. The Edgehill Association elected to remain a separat association, but all ex pupils of all four schools are welcomed to the Kingsley Association..

Hello all, as some of you may have noticed from my posts, I lost my dear husband, Icarus, to lung cancer on 23rd January this year. I have decided that it is time for the younger generation to take over the running of the Association. If nobody comes forward to volunteer I shall hand it all over to the school and it will be out of the control of the members. If you are interested, please contact me at: [email protected]

The role is fairly simple: liaise with the school with regard to the dispersal of prizes, paying for year 11 Association Hoodies, managing the bank account (although it could work with the school managing the money). Organise an annual dinner and manage this page and profile. I also used to send out an e mailed newsletter annually - which was easier when I worked at the school and could use the school system for sending bulk e mails (my personal e mail account blocks the sending of bulk e mails).

All the best
Fo Edmonds (AKA Fiona Kingsley)

Martin has spent 27 days in ICU following a stroke at home. He is now on the stroke ward and is making good progress, with a long road ahead of him.

KINGSLEY IS PLACED 10TH IN THE COUNTRY

The Governments’ School performance tables were published this week and students and staff at Kingsley School in Bideford have reason to celebrate.

Our A level progress score placed us 10th IN THE COUNTRY out of 4,311 schools with the highest level awarded.

The A level progress score measures how much progress all students who studied A levels at Kingsley School made during their time in the Sixth Form. This score is calculated using a comparison with students at all other schools in England.

The score was based entirely on our A level results and did not include our equally strong vocational programme where 82% of results were at the equivalent of A* and A at A level.

With results like these it’s not surprising that our generous Oxbridge programme is well subscribed.

The Plough in Torrington is a unique community resource which would be irreplaceable should it close. They have lost most of their Arts Council funding to other projects. Please support if you are able - every little helps.

Raise £30,000 to fill an immediate hole in the Plough's finances and secure the future of the cultural and community hub of North Devon.
