You know the drill by now 🤩 just turn up 🥰

👋 We'll be there from 8:50am to welcome you
🕘 We'll start at 9am 🕘
⭕️ All equipment provided
🕙 Finish at 10am
😋 Stay for drinks/cakes/banter
🤩 Feel amazing
💃 Dance all the way home

Today we met at the family hub on Tedder Avenue

We split up in various directions to cover as much of the local area as we could.
Dave headed along towards Thornaby common and managed to collect not only litter but other fly tipped items.
It was lovely to see Fay from Ingleby today ☺️ volunteers from other groups are always welcome.
Anne-Marie, Alicia, Kelly and her kiddies set off towards the play area at the south Thornaby community centre, unfortunately they were disappointed to see lots of broken glass around there, the kids downed tools and had a quick play before heading back to the family hub car park for much needed refreshments 🥤🍪
It was also lovely to see Janis, Colleen, the two Johns and Rachael her son Rwisi and not forgetting the pooch Sky 🐾

We all enjoyed the refreshments served to us today from Ann and thank you for baking the scones, also thank you to Ann-Marie for the loaf cakes she brought.

A quick bag count resulted in an amazing 1️⃣8️⃣ bags of litter as well as the fly tipped items from 9️⃣ of our amazing volunteers 🦺 3️⃣ adorable kiddies

🔹 25% of carbon emissions
are absorbed by our oceans 👣

🔹 85% of pollution in the sea is
plastic and mostly comes from
the land 🙁

🔹 In 2022 micro-plastics were
discovered for the first time in
human blood 😳

🔹 By 2050 there could be more
plastic than fish in our oceans 🐠

What actions can you take to reduce pollution and help to revitalise our oceans?

🌟 Sunday Morning Litter Pick — Thornaby Town Hall Edition! 🌟

What a cracking morning! 1️⃣4️⃣volunteers headed toward Thornaby Town Hall for our Sunday group pick, tackling the surrounding streets with our usual TCLP energy 💪🏼

2️⃣6️⃣ bags filled! That’s 26 bags of litter gone from our lovely town — huge thanks to everyone for your hard work and dedication 👏🏼

✨ Clare looked a million dollars with her fresh hairdo and holiday glow — Thornaby’s own ray of sunshine! ☀️

💖 Clipboard John had the ladies swooning — they couldn’t keep their hands off him (steady on, John!) 😍

🏅 Eddison completed his Duke of Edinburgh Award hours this morning — a massive well done! It’s been a pleasure having him and his mum Becky join us over the past year.

👕Karan showed off her fab new T-shirt 😁

📸We didn't get photos of Angela, Dave or Janis, so you'll have to settle for AI versions 😂

☕ We wrapped up with refreshments at the TCLP Café — thank you Pam for your delicious baking, we are grateful you kept your last eggs for us 😋

with the focus being on 🌱 🐜 all species, no matter how small, have an important part to play in our eco system. With 1 million species facing extinction, there has never been a more important time to focus on biodiversity 💚 It starts at home ~ we need nature more than ever, yet some of us are still treating it like a dumping ground.
Please take all your rubbish home with you & inspire others to do the same.
Let’s show our planet we’re deserving of all it does for us.
