This National Volunteers' Week, we're celebrating the incredible people who give their time to support young people through our Youth Mentoring Programme.

"Guidance, support and a listening ear can be the small difference which leads to big change for young people. Boosting people's confidence is at the heart of being a mentor." – Ian, Volunteer Mentor

Ian joined us as a mentor in our Brighton office after taking part in the Department for Work and Pensions - DWP's Restart Scheme and is now helping young people build confidence and take positive steps towards their future.

We're looking for more volunteer mentors across Banbury, Basingstoke, Staines, Slough, Reading, Guildford, Brighton and Chichester. If you think you could offer encouragement, guidance and a listening ear to a young person, register your interest here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=s_ad0lJOKkiPq79REZ89oEj-0hHVjfRBrtoBrL19PGlUM1czMlpEUTYwSUpONllMWkZZVUNBWjU2Ty4u

We’ve published our Social Impact Report 2025 - demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve.

In our third annual report, we highlight how we’ve enhanced our efforts to integrate social value into our daily operations and maximise our positive impact on society.
We’re continually building on the impact we have on our people, customers, partners and communities, delivering 20% social return on investment into our communities in 2023; 31% in 2024 and last year an amazing 34.5% - equating to £62m!

This includes:
💼our continued commitment to recruiting locally
🧑‍🌾hosting our annual Community Day which supported local community projects across the UK, US and Canada
🌳planting a further 8,000 trees, bringing our worldwide tree count to 28,336 trees planted since 2023

Susan Paterson FIEP, Executive Director of Fedcap Employment, said: “Delivering services for local people is at the centre of what Fedcap does, and alongside our partners across the UK, I’m looking forward to the year ahead as we continue to have a positive impact on our communities.”

“Without Fedcap believing in me, none of this would be possible”

Ending the week with the inspiring story of Zulay, who was supported by our colleagues in New York after leaving the justice system.

Listen to Zulay as she shares with us the impact Fedcap had on her after being released from Rikers Island Prison five years ago.

You can also read about how her lived experience is inspiring others as she returns to Rikers as a mentor. https://bit.ly/Zulays-Story

“What I’ve appreciated most is how empowering the atmosphere is. The support isn’t clinical or formal, it’s human, warm, and collaborative.”

Ending the week with some lovely words shared by a member of the Riverside Clubhouse!

Jaswinder joined Riverside Clubhouse through the Restart Scheme as he wanted a supportive environment to focus on his job search and build his confidence. Through his commitment and resilience, Jaswinder has now made huge steps in his progress towards work, and credits the connections he made through Clubhouse.

"Good energy, positive energy" is how one of our Riverside Members described the Clubhouse!

Ending 💚 , sharing some more from our clubhouses.

Members at New Wave, Brighton and Riverside, Staines, have been taking wellbeing walks in their local communities for some gentle exercise and fresh air, to promote positive mental health. New Wave members then took the time to engage in more wellness activities, from kindness cards to canvas painting and vision boards.

Our Clubhouses offer a positive and supportive environment for it's members, helping them to build confidence and improve their lives.

Hear from our wonderful members below💚 :

Today, for , our teams up and down the country proudly took part in Wear It Green Day for the fourth year in a row! Raising awareness and showing support for better mental health for all 💚

By going green, we’re joining thousands across the UK in shining a light on the importance of mental wellbeing and the power of community. Every conversation, every moment of support, helps break the stigma.

This week is a time when we come together across the UK to shine a light on mental health and the vital role that the community plays in our wellbeing.

This year's theme is Action: for yourself, for someone else, for all of us, and what better way to celebrate this than to share a story about Sam, who joined the Restart Scheme with extreme anxiety and low confidence. But through the action and support of our team, and attending our New Wave Clubhouse, he’s now a shining and positive influence on new members!

"A sense of purpose and place to belong."

As part of our Inspiring Change series, our dedicated team in Banbury talk about the realities people face when they are leaving the justice system, including the very real risk of homelessness and the impact this can have on rebuilding their lives.

Helen and Dan are part of a team of employment advisers who go beyond employability support, helping people secure stability by accessing the housing and financial support they need to move forward. Together they are contributing to Fedcap's mission of improving people's economic mobility and creating lasting change.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
