A new Changing Places toilet has opened up to all at Middlesbrough's Albert Park last week.

Changing Places are larger than standard accessible toilets and are designed for adults and children with complex needs and include a changing bench, a hoist, a toilet, often a shower and plenty of space.

Great work all involved

The number of incidents of antisocial behaviour in Hemlington and Pallister Park has dropped dramatically following work carried out as part of a new project.

Between October 2022 and March 2023, recorded incidents dropped by 71% across both areas on the same period the previous year.

It's part of the Safer Streets 4 community safety scheme, £696,611 programme has seen a number of crime-busting measures carried out on both estates.

The scheme is a partnership between Middlesbrough Council, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland and other agencies.

And everyone involved knows that more work needs to be done.

🔵 Household Support Fund update 🔵

The Household Support Fund supports residents with energy bills, food, and essential costs like Council Tax.

We're now accepting applications from families:

- With children under the age of 5, where another child in the household is getting income related-free school meals.
- Whose children live in Middlesbrough, but are attending a school outside of Middlesbrough and getting income-related free school meals.
- With children who are not eligible for income related-free school meals, but the household is receiving either Council Tax reduction, Housing Benefit, or Universal Credit.

📅 The closing date for these applications is Friday 14 July 2023.
