We are sad and sorry to let members know that one of our oldest members, former walk leader and volunteer, Betty Bleloch, died Sunday11 October in PRH, after a stroke on the preceding Friday. If you were an active member of our Group any time before 2018 you will have very fond memories of Betty and her walks, both as a leader and participant. You will remember her wonderful home baked cakes, her warmth and delightful smile at social events too, and you may have met her at these post 2018. Her funeral will be 2.30 at Telford Crematorium followed by a wake in Admaston. Her close friends have said that if you want to attend, Betty would like us to dress as if we were out for a walk rather than formally. RIP Betty and thank you for all the happy memories. Our condolencies to her family and close friends.

Our 12 November Thursday walk will be around the picturesque villages of Beckbuy and Badger, with a short 5.5 mile walk suitable for shorter days and unreliable weather! One for fans of old buildings, village ponds and wide countryside views of fields and skies and autumnal trees. Full details in the link below.

Stunning views as promised on Sunday's 9 mile walk around the quieter Long Mynd batches and tops from Plowden. Thank you Vicky for a beautufully planned walk. If you like to walk in unspolit countryside we plan these sorts of walks for the first and third Sundays of the month. Leaders get to choose where and what sort of walk, so if you are a member, why not volunteer to lead the sorts of walk you like? Walk leader training and mentoring is available, just come along and ask.

Donnington Drive towards Weald Moor and Kynnersley from the roundabout at the end of Humber Lane is being claimed as a public right of way bridleway. This was a bit of surprise to many of is, as having walked along it for years, we thought it was a right of way already, but apparently it has not been added to the Definitive Map. Always see walkers and cyclists using the route here to get to the footpaths to The Hincks and Weald Moors from Muxton and Donnington . How long have you been using it? A bridleway is not just for horses, walkers and cyclists can use it too.

Thank you Brendan for a beautiful walk today, full of interest, with lovely wide views, in the countryside around Grafton, Fitz and Yeaton and the River Perry near Shrewsbury. I think this walk probably holds the record for the most stiles this year, not sure if it was 19 or 20.
