As promised here is the poster for our September Repair Cafe. We are joining Telford Climate Action Hub with their Swap and Giveaway Event and are looking forward to a busy day with plenty of repairs - see you there!

We had a busy time at our Randlay cafe last Saturday, despite the weather. The Hall at the Community Centre is very convenient for us, and it was a pleasure being there.
I've attached pictures of three repairs or volunteers completed at the cafe: The first was a pale yellow blanket and was of sentimental value for the client. It was stitched back together and the satin edge binding was repaired. The second was a lovely silk top that needed an invisible mend on one shoulder seam. Our client was over the moon as it's her favourite summer top. The third was one of two necklaces belonging to the daughter of a client. Both had the fastening quickly repaired so that they could be worn again.
Other repairs included rewiring an electric hedge cutter.

We had a great session at Coalbrookdale Community Centre last Saturday.

We were kept busy and were able to repair most of the 28 items brought in. Some were retained because more time or spare parts were needed. There were a couple of burnt out motors which we were sadly unable to fix.
My favourite repair was to a sixties battery operated record player. We were able to replace the drive bands, but its turned out that the speaker is also not working. A further attempt will ne made next month when we will be at Randlay - details to follow very soon.
We were glad to welcome two younger repairers who reduced our average age considerably!!

Great News!

The venue for our July Cafe is confirmed!

We will be at Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge Community Centre on Saturday July 25th.

We are very grateful to the Community Centre for their hospitality at short notice and are looking forward to "Repairing in The Dale"

We had a great session at Hadley Community Centre today. What a lovely facility! Details of our successes and 'not-successes' will follow shortly.
We are not yet certain of our venue for the July cafe, but will post details as soon as we can.
