Fun fact: Harry hadn’t planned to play - but when we asked if he fancied a quick jam, he jumped straight behind the drums. What followed was pure magic!

This week the young people across the whole school joined in on an incredible afternoon of racing fun!

Inspired by pupil voice who declared her Drive Deck sessions were 'like racing' - the therapy and school teams worked together to create a session in which the young people used the Drive Deck machines, Bugzi's, walkers, race-runners and chairs to move around the school on various themed tracks - as well as being able to play switch adapted Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch!

The afternoon was a laughter filled, joyous celebration of weeks of hard work from the Occupational Therapy and Assistive Technology teams - especially on their project to make the independent mobility platform accessible using Eye Gaze devices, to enable independence and autonomy in as many learners as possible.🎮🚗🦼

💬 "Non-speaking is not non-thinking."

Jonathan Bryan’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of communication in all its forms. As a young author and advocate, he challenges us to reflect on how we perceive potential - especially for those who communicate differently.

Every learner’s journey is unique and every voice matters.

We’re sharing his story to celebrate communication, raise awareness and continue reflecting on inclusive education for all.

Take a deep breath. Inhale peace; exhale happiness.

Breathwork is a wonderful part of our Yoga practice here at school, with it allowing an opening and opportunity for staff and young people to experience togetherness, contentment and a moment of shared stillness. Namaste. 🙏

Last week was the annual Primary Christmas Play!

This year was 'Christmas Around The World' and the play was filled with fun facts about lots of countries around the world and their different festive traditions.

The children from Orange and Yellow classes showcased their amazing skills such as using their Eye Gaze devices, pressing switches to activate lights, using their walkers and different positioning equipment and feeling different props and textures.

They all worked incredibly hard and everyone was rightfully incredibly proud! 🌎

As part of our winter celebrations at school, our Sixth Form students in Pink Class organised an incredible Winter Wonderland party for all of our young people to enjoy!

There was a magical selfie station, a festive DJ, take part in making a personalised bauble and lots of tasty drinks and nibbles!

A wonderful, wintery time was had by all and it was an excellent way to kickstart the festive celebrations! ❄️⛄️

🎶 A Soulful Celebration with Blue Class! 🎶

Last Friday, Blue Class hosted an inspiring assembly for the 6th Form, welcoming Pink, Blue and Platinum classes. The focus of the session was on celebrating the life and legacy of Aretha Franklin, the "Queen of Soul." Her incredible musical achievements and role as a trailblazer in the civil rights movement were at the heart of this special gathering.

The assembly was a chance for our young people to explore Aretha’s empowering message of equality, respect and resilience while enjoying the connection and joy that her iconic music brings.

To mark this celebration, we’re thrilled to share a MelodySigns video of Aretha’s timeless anthem, "Respect", performed with Makaton signs.

📽️ Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP58Bk9eQlA

It was truly wonderful to see the students embracing music with such a powerful and uplifting message.

With plenty of R.E.S.P.E.C.T.,
