Epsom Community Sponsorship

21/04/2022

You might remember that a few months ago we posted that we had raised all our necessary funds and completed our application. Well we are very happy to announce that….

WE DID IT! 🎉

Our application to become community sponsors has now been approved by the Home Office subject to securing a suitable property for the family. 👨‍👩‍👧

Before the countdown can begin we need more help before we can welcome our family. 🏡 If you are a landlord in Epsom and are interested in renting your property to a refugee family then please get in touch for further details or with any questions at:

Thank you for all your ongoing support and encouragement!

Happy International Women's Day!

Today is the day to commit to standing up for the human rights of women everywhere, to celebrate and reflect on the progress women have made and to call for an end to gender inequality.

On International Women's Day we applaud the amazing women who work tireless to make their communities more supportive places. We are inspired by the strength and determination of the women who are bravely building new lives for themselves and their families here in the UK.

Let's unite for an equal and sustainable future!

We are very happy to announce that we have submitted the first stage of our application to the Home Office for approval!! 🎉

It has taken many months of hard work to get this far with lots of admin and going back and forth with paper work but we finally did it! 💪🏼

Thank you so much to our fantastic sponsorship group who have made this all possible.

Now we will wait to hear back from the Home Office, there will probably be a few things they want to double check with us before they give us the go ahead. Once we have their approval, we can start getting ready to welcome our refugee family.

WE DID IT! 🎉

We are very happy to announce that we have reached our £9,000 goal - What a fantastic way to kickstart 2022! We are required to raise at least £9000 to demonstrate to the Home Office we have sufficient funds to help support the family we welcome in their first year here.

We would like to wish a very big THANK YOU to all our wonderful community members for all the kind donations we have received. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity and hard work and wouldn’t have got this far without you.

‘So what’s next?’ We hear you ask. We are now in the process of submitting our application to the council and the Home Office and hope to have gained their approval of our group as Community Sponsors soon. We will keep you up to date with the process on here but please do get in touch with any queries or if you would like to get involved.
