Even Swindon Community Centre

Even Swindon Community Centre EVEN SWINDON COMMUNITY CENTRE is a venue, run by volunteers, where you can hold Community Events or Hire a room for a Private Function.

With kitchen facilities and a Licensed Bar and FREE off street parking an ideal place to meet up. Hall bookings are managed on Thursdays between 7pm and 9pm or on Fridays between 5.30pm and 7.30pm either in person or on 01793 420 495. At other times please leave a clear message on the answerphone and we will get back to you, usually within a few days.

Yesterday we said goodbye to a familiar sight in our kitchen...
Today we're pleased to reveal its replacement!
As part of our decarbonisation project, the old gas cooker has now been replaced with a new electric model.
Another step forward in reducing the centre's carbon footprint while continuing to provide excellent facilities for our hirers and community groups.

Ever had a function at Even Swindon Community Centre?

There's a good chance that some of the food was prepared on this trusty gas cooker!

After years of sterling service, it's now being retired as part of our Decarbonisation Programme and the move away from gas.

So closing in on the end of the first week of our upgrade of the heating about a dozen old heaters have already been removed as well as those two huge boilers we pictured on Monday.
Amazingly regular functions and hires have continued with minimal interruptions.

🏗️ COMMUNITY CENTRE HEATING TRANSFORMATION PROJECT

Over the next six weeks we'll be documenting a major upgrade to the heating and hot water systems at the community centre. Follow our page to watch the transformation as it happens.

🔧 What's changing?

Our existing gas boiler system is being removed and, once the project is complete, there will be no gas remaining on site. Heating and hot water will instead be provided by modern electric systems including heat pump/air conditioning units, electric radiators and point-of-use water heaters.

🌱 Why are we doing this?

The new system will:
• Remove approximately 65,000 kWh of annual gas consumption.
• Improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Allow individual areas of the building to be heated independently.
• Provide greater comfort and flexibility for the many groups and organisations that use the centre.

📅 Keeping the Centre Open

The work has been carefully planned to minimise disruption. The building will remain fully operational throughout the project, with all areas left safe, tidy and functional at the end of each working day.

Work starts today on replacing the Heating system at Even Swindon Community Centre.
This is part of the ongoing decarbonisation programme across the parish.
So take a last look at these boilers as they will be leaving real soon.
All the work is being scheduled around current activities at the centre, so if you are planning a visit or attending an event, don't panic. It will still be happening.
