Three venues in Swindon’s Railway Village together with Swindon Heritage Preservation will be playing host to the Autumn Crafternoon event on Wednesday 28th October between 1pm and 4pm.

The Cricketers, The Bakers and the Railway Village Museum will be opening their doors for this, and there will be lots of Halloween craft activities for all the family to enjoy; families can follow a spooky trail around the railway village and take part in a candle-lit tour of the Railway Village Museum. Refreshments will also be available in the Baker's Cafe.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Graham Carter on 27 August for Moonies, Movers and Shakers — a fascinating illustrated look at the Swindon railwaymen who made their mark in London.

Join us at Bakers’ Café at 7:30 PM this Thursday 27th August for a great evening of local history and community.

Age UK Wiltshire - Let’s change how we age Fitness & Friendship Club is a social club for older people with an emphasis on keeping active and making new friends. Sessions offer gentle chair-based exercise in a safe and fun environment- with plenty of time to chat over refreshments too!

🗓️ When they meet: alternate Tuesdays
⏰Time: 2pm–4pm
📍Main Hall, Central Community Centre
🧑🏻‍🩰What they do: Tai Chi, Kurling, bowling, quoits, quizzes and games

New members are always welcome to come along, and the first session is free. There's a small charge of £6 per session afterwards, payable on the door by cash or card.

This part-time role will support community partnerships, co-ordinate events and activities, promote use of our buildings, and help local people connect with Swindon’s railway, social and community heritage.

Swindon Heritage Preservation is looking for a warm, organised and visitor-focused person to help support the Railway Village Museum and bring Swindon’s railway and community heritage to life.

This part-time role will involve co-ordinating visits, tours and learning activity, supporting volunteers, improving visitor information, and helping create a welcoming experience for schools, community groups and visitors.

We are launching our weekly Community Spotlight to let you know what's on at your local community centre.
