Residents may notice Swindon Borough Council and its contractors working on Oakhurst Way on 11 and 12 August.

The work is to upgrade the electrical feeder pillar serving the bus shelter on Oakhurst Way, between Ilkeston Road and Hartington Rd. While it may not be the most visible improvement, it helps keep the infrastructure that supports our public transport network safe and reliable.

No carriageway incursion is planned, so delays are unlikely.

If you use this bus stop or are walking through the area, please take extra care around the works and follow any temporary signage.

As always, if you experience any unexpected issues during the works, please let us know so we can raise them with the relevant team.

Something new for the summer ☀️🚲

Swindon is gearing up to celebrate Armed Forces Day this Saturday (20 June) at Lydiard Park.

Join us from 11am to 4.30pm for a day packed with military displays, family activities, community stalls, live performances and a funfair. The event is supported by a £5,000 Ministry of Defence grant and is Swindon’s chance to honour the dedication of serving personnel, veterans and military families.

You can also speak to our fostering team to hear more about becoming a foster carer.

Expect performances from the Gurkhas, cadets and a brass band, plus great food options, a fun fair and free parking. Local groups interested in getting involved can contact the team at [email protected].
