Thanks to everyone who liked and commented on yesterday’s post — really appreciate it!
It’s back to league action for Andy and the boys tonight as they make the short trip down the M4 to take on Cardiff Met. Kickoff is at 7:45. If you’re heading down, travel safe and let’s make some noise!
We also had some brilliant news yesterday for our Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC Walking Football Club as we keep pushing forward with the plans for this exciting Community Reds project. Walking Football is one of the fastest-growing sports in Wales, and we’re proud to offer opportunities for everyone to get involved.
Good luck to our women’s team, who are off to Cambrian on Sunday for the second round of fixtures in the Women’s Walking Football League. If you want to follow their journey or fancy getting involved yourself, check out the page or drop an email to [email protected].
Best of luck as well to both squads and to our men’s players training this weekend with the Cymru Dragons as they get ready for next year’s World Masters Walking Football Cup, being hosted right here in Wales by Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC and the BFL Community Reds.
There’s an amber weather warning today, so if you’re out and about, please take care. With no Community Outreach Programme running today, it’s a day in the office catching up on admin, finishing some end-of-funding reports, and working on resources and training materials for our Volunteer Academy, which launches in January 2026.
One of our biggest upcoming projects is COBWEBS — Creating Opportunities By Work Education Building Skills. Working with our community partners, this initiative will offer vocational training, support, volunteering, and sheltered work placements for people in the local and wider community. It’s all about building confidence, growing skills, and helping people progress into future employment. If you’d like to know more or get involved, drop us a message at [email protected].
That’s it from us for this week at BFL Community Reds — enjoy your weekend, stay safe, and remember:
We never look down on anyone… only to help them up.
Community Reds — making sure no one is left on the bench.
