Small Actions, Big Change. The Environment Centre is a Swansea based charity promoting environmental sustainability. We have a Green Shop & Fairtrade Coffee Bar and run a year long programme of environmental training sessions, exhibitions and events. We also have a membership scheme and provide meeting and office space. We work with schools, community groups, the public sector and businesses.

🎃👻 The Switched On team had a spooktacular week! 👻🎃

Our first stop was the brilliantly Halloween-themed Sketty Park Lunch Club, where we chatted with more than 30 attendees, volunteers, witches and wizards about simple ways to save energy and stay warm this winter. We also handed out warm packs to eligible residents and signposted people to additional support, including benefits checks and advice from Swansea Carers Centre. 🧙‍♀️🍂

We then headed over to the Carers Marketplace at Y Storfa, where we met with local organisations, shared information about our services, and made some fantastic new connections for future collaboration. 🤝

💚⚡ Need energy advice of your own? Our Energy Hub is open every weekday from 10am-3pm, offering free, impartial advice and support.

📅 Upcoming events: 🍲 Community Connect - 18th November, 11am-3pm
We'll be joined by local support services, with hot soup, refreshments and plenty of friendly advice available throughout the day.

Looking to update your winter wardrobe without spending money? Join Llanmorlais Eco-Cwtch for a cosy afternoon of swapping, sharing and sustainable fashion.

From winter coats and festive jumpers to sparkly party outfits, discover some new-to-you treasures while helping to reduce textile waste this winter.

📚🌿 Join Our New Green Book Club! 🌿📚

We're excited to launch the very first meeting of The Environment Centre's Green Book Club!

Each month we'll explore books that spark conversation around environmental issues, sustainability, social change, and our relationship with the world around us.

For our first session, we'll be discussing How Not To Save The World: Doing Good Without Annoying Everyone by Anthea Lawson. It's an insightful and hopeful look at what helps, and sometimes hinders, positive change.

We're also delighted to share that Anthea will be joining us at the end of the discussion for a chat and Q&A!

Happening Tomorrow: SUSSED - Swansea's Sustainable Travel Festival

Join us tomorrow for a free day dedicated to greener, healthier and more affordable ways to travel.

Our volunteers have been hard at work!
