Condolences to the family of the late Cookie Aiden Dunne. A much loved character throughout the town and he will be sadly missed.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul.
The death has taken place September 2nd 2026
at Altnagelvin Hospital of Aiden (Cookie) Dunne
6 Townsend Street, Strabane and formerly of Mourne Avenue
and Bridge Street, Strabane.
Beloved husband of the late Veronica,
much loved father of Grainne, Sorcha, Clodagh and Fiona,
dearly loved grandfather of Fianna, Connlai, Tomas, Aoibh, Eoghan,
Dearbhla and the late baby Dualta
and brother of Manus, Irene, Rosaleen
and the late Mary, Helen, Kay, Hugh(Tusie), Pat and Jackie.
Reposing at the family home on Thursday (September 3rd) from 6p.m.
Funeral leaving the family home on Saturday (September 5th)
at 11.40a.m. for Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strabane at 12 noon.
Cremation afterwards in Lily Hill Crematorium, Letterkenny at 4.30p.m.
Deeply regretted by his sorrowing daughters, brother, sisters, grandchildren,
nieces and nephews wide family circle and all his friends

AND ON THE MORNING OF THE FUNERAL.

Thanks to everyone who attended the bingo last Wednesday and supporting our centre.

**Sports Camp**

Week three concluded our Sports Camp and it was another great success with the boys & girls participating in Gaelic, football & multi sport games in a learning & fun environment 🤩. Throughout the three weeks, the boys & girls demonstrated great improvement in their abilities ⚽🏐

Welfare Rights Appeals Support – Cavelle Long

My name is Cavelle Long, and I am an Appeals Officer specialising in Welfare Rights with the Resource Centre Derry.

I specialise in supporting individuals with PIP and DLA appeals, Universal Credit (UC) appeals, and a range of other welfare rights matters. I also have knowledge and experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) matters, providing support and guidance where welfare rights and additional needs overlap.

I will be available at Lisnafin Ardnalee Trust Community Centre every Monday and Tuesday, from September between 10am to 2pm, offering confidential welfare rights appeals support to local residents.

Appointments are required and can be arranged through the Resource Centre Derry on 028 7135 2832.
If you have received a decision about your benefits that you disagree with, or you need advice and support with an appeal, please get in touch to arrange an appointment.

It is with disgust that it has come to our attention that irresponsible dog owners are allowing their dog to foul over the estate. If you are an owner of a dog, you have the responsibility to clean up after it, not doing so is nothing short of lazy, ignorant and disrespectful to the community. There is footage that we'll be following up on but we urge everyone to act responsible and clean their dog F***s and stop putting the children at risk!!

Row, row your boat!!!
Week two was another great success with the boys & girls being well behaved & enjoying the activities 🤩. There was more skill produced & all are improving their movement & coordination with the drills & games being provided ⚽🏐

Just one more week left and we can't wait 😎 Thanks again to our coaches Liam, Donna and Conal who are doing a fantastic job 👏👏 Also another shout out to John Moore's Foundation, Mc Goldricks Sports & Strabane Sigersons 😁

**Sports Camp**

Well that's week one of our sports camp completed and what a great week it was!! The children were so well behaved and well mannered throughout they did their parents / guardians proud 👏👏 we can't wait until the next two weeks 😁 There was plenty of skill & ability displayed and lots of fun with the coaches doing an excellent job 👏⚽🏐🥅
