So! Regulations have been set for the foyle system wit no direct Information on hook size gape size or ANYTHING! The loughs agency are playing us for fools giving one tag inadvertently making it catch and release with out calling a spade a spade! Where now do disabled anglers and older generation stand with bait fishing now being wiped off the table exactly? We know the only safe alternative is to legalise prawn and shrimp fishing for catch and release purposes! We are now organising picketing and protest for equality of ALL anglers. We pay our money every year we maintain our club waters should we not be able to enjoy a perfectly safe method of catch and release. I have been reading the legislation very carefully and have found major flaws that is now in the hands of two local independent councillors who have kindly pushed this forward in ways I simply can not as I can’t get a reply of the powers that be! Posts regarding the pickets will be posted on here when we have organised a time etc. it’s time some equality and sense was put into play in the foyle system, demonising anglers has to become a thing of the past for the sake of handing out a few fines. We should be encouring angling weather it’s catch and release or what ever way. Our angling community is going to suffer once again by taking any form off bait fishing off the table. Prawn and shrimp is the safest alternative.
CHEERS! Ps share if you can please
