The Wellspring Stockport The Wellspring provide essential support to people without a home or who are at risk of losing their home. Registered Charity number: 1157268

Your donations and support can help to build futures beyond homelessness. The Wellspring provides numerous essential services to Homeless and disadvantaged people in Stockport 365 days a year. Over 900 homeless people and rough sleepers have been supported into housing by staff at The Wellspring. Health services are provided at the project by Stockport PCT. Over 150 Volunteers work at the project.

It’s a great way to help more people understand what we do, who we support, and how they can get involved. You could share it with friends and family, pop it up at work, or keep it handy to pass on.

A big thank you to the team from NatWest, who recently spent time volunteering with us at The Wellspring 💜

They got involved across all sorts like serving food and spending time with people who use our services as well as joining outreach and helping with a deep clean of the kitchen.

Meet Wenna, one of our Project Workers here at The Wellspring 👋

Wenna first came to The Wellspring as a volunteer back in 2021 and, like a lot of people who spend time here, she quickly realised it was somewhere she wanted to stay. She’s now part of the full-time team and a familiar face to many of the people who walk through our doors!

What really stands out for Wenna is seeing small but important changes happen over time, especially when someone who’s been unsure about support starts to open up and trust again. Being part of that journey and building those relationships is something she feels really lucky to do.

If someone is unsure about reaching out, Wenna’s advice is simple, just come down. You’ll be met with kindness, no judgement, and people who genuinely want to help 💚

And a little bit about Wenna outside of work, she’s originally from Wales and loves going back to visit family, although she always looks forward to coming back here too. Most of her time off is spent with her husband and little boy, usually catching up with friends or heading to the theatre 💜

The Peaks & Dales Classic Car Run in support of The Wellspring is nearly here! 🚗

Organised by the Hare & Hounds Classic Vehicle Club, the event takes place on Sunday 14th June and will see classic vehicles head out on a 65-mile countryside run from AVRO Heritage Trust to Peak Village Retail Outlet.

It'll be a brilliant day and we’re so grateful that all proceeds from this year’s event are being donated to The Wellspring. Thank you to everyone taking part and helping support people across Stockport 💚

Pride Month is a time to celebrate, but it’s also a reminder that not everyone feels safe, supported or accepted.

LGBTQ+ people are still more likely to experience homelessness, often after facing rejection, isolation or a lack of understanding from those around them.

At The Wellspring, we see the importance of having somewhere you can come as you are with no judgement or expectations.

We’re here for anyone in Stockport who needs us, and that only continues because of the support we receive from our community.

For people experiencing homelessness, having something clean to wear, a warm coat or a decent pair of shoes can help with comfort, confidence and just getting through the day.

At The Wellspring, we try to make sure people have access to those basics, but we rely on donations to keep that going.

Right now, we’re particularly in need of things like boxers, socks, men’s trainers, joggers, t-shirts, shorts, hoodies, waterproof coats and sleeping bags.

With it being , it’s a good time to have a quick sort through your wardrobe and see if there’s anything you could pass on.

Today we've been celebrating British Cycling's Social Impact Day🚴

The initiative aims to spread the joy of cycling and highlight how it can be a powerful vehicle for social change by encouraging staff and riders to give back to causes and communities they care about.
