🎬 Sunday Afternoon at the Movies: Eddie the Eagle
Join us on Sunday 7 June for a free film and a warm welcome. Includes light refreshments.

This week's film is Eddie the Eagle. This biographical comedy-drama stars Taron Egerton as Michael "Eddie the Eagle" Edwards, a British skier who in 1988 became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping since 1928. Also stars Hugh Jackman and Jim Broadbent.

We're open from 1pm-4pm, the film starts at 1.30pm. All welcome 🙂

Join us for a free educational talk on navigating the physical, emotional and hormonal changes of midlife, with local GP Dr Katherine Cole. Dr Cole will discuss what to expect during perimenopause and menopause and how to manage it well, as well as providing information on HRT (hormone replacement therapy).

This week for we had a special treat for some of our volunteers: a 'hands-on' creative session with award-winning local sculptor Ian Wolter.

Ian very generously held a session for 15 of our team, teaching them how to sculpt their hand. Not only that, he did ALL of this for free, so a very big thank you to him for his time and his expertise. It was a fantastic class and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

TouchPoint Teatime: every Thursday from 3pm to 6pm for kids of school age and younger, and their parents/carers. We meet for some fun activities followed by a delicious meal 😋

On the menu this Thursday 4 June:
⭐️ A selection of fresh fruit
⭐️ Meatballs in tomato & basil sauce with spaghetti 🍝
⭐️ Fish pie with creamy mash
⭐️ Mac 'n' cheese with garlic bread
⭐️ Ice pops / ice cream

And we'll also be making some clever paper baskets.

TouchPoint Community Café: open every Thursday from 10am to 2.30pm, with hot meals available from 11.30am to 1pm ⏰

On the menu this Thursday 4 June:

💚 Slow-cooked pork shoulder
💚 Panini and Baked Potatoes

Prices are very reasonable and your first tea or coffee is free.
Plus sweet and savoury snacks including home baked cakes - and delicious jams and chutneys for sale!

Everyone welcome - and if you'd like to meet some new people, just ask for our 'chatty table' and our team will help you find them.

This week is and a great time to celebrate our amazing TouchPoint volunteers!
Last year more than 200 volunteers gave nearly 25,000 hours of their time 👏👏👏
That's an incredible number.
From the Community FoodShare to the Café, the community garden to the TouchPoint Radio station, Kids' Teatime to the Bereavement Cafés and so much more, TouchPoint is only possible thanks to this amazing team effort.
