Stort Pride is deeply concerned that Girlguiding and the Women’s Institute announced new policies excluding trans girls and trans women just one day apart. This rapid succession sends a stark and painful message: that trans people—especially trans women and girls—are becoming increasingly shut out of community spaces where they should feel welcome and safe.

These decisions do more than change membership rules. They undermine the sense of belonging, dignity, and safety that every woman and girl deserves. Trans women and girls are women and girls, and their exclusion harms not only those directly affected but the wider LGBTQIA2S+ community who see yet another door being close

Stort Pride stands firmly with our trans community. We call on all organisations to consult LGBTQIA2S+ groups before making decisions that have such profound human impact, and to choose inclusion over fear.

We are saddened and dissapointed by the decision made by the Girl Guides to ban Trans Girls from their spaces.

�Yet again, another orgnisation that is supposed to be safe for children is continuing this transphobia/trans hate rhetoric.

Stort Pride stands firmly with trans girls and their families. Trans girls are girls, and every young person deserves access to spaces that nurture leadership, friendship, empowerment, and joy. Exclusionary policies do not protect children—they marginalise them, isolate them, and undermine their wellbeing.

To every trans girl reading this: we see you, we value you, and we will continue fighting for a world where you belong without question.
