Did you know it takes, on average, two years for someone to realise they’re an unpaid carer?

That’s two years without knowing what support and information is available to them.

Together, we can help change this.

Ahead of Carers Rights Day on Thursday 19 November, let’s help people recognise their caring role sooner.

Whether it’s starting conversations about caring with friends and family, or championing better carer identification in our local communities and services, we can all contribute in our own way.

💙 Happy Trustees’ Week! 💗

This Trustees’ Week, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to our wonderful Board of Trustees at Durham County Carers Support.

Our trustees generously give their time, knowledge, skills and experience to help guide our organisation, shape our future and ensure we continue making a positive difference to people providing unpaid care across County Durham & Darlington.

Being a trustee is a commitment that often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout everything we do. From providing strategic direction and good governance to challenging, supporting and championing our work, their contribution is invaluable.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and supportive Board who share our passion, believe in what we do and help us continue to grow and develop.

So, from all the staff and volunteers at DCCS, thank you for your commitment, your guidance and for being such an important part of our organisation.
