Little visitors and baby dolls take over at Sandwood Care Home🧸👧

Playtime took a popular turn at the latest Sandwood Care Home Seedlings group. With a 'free choice' theme on the agenda, everyone was encouraged to follow their own interests, and the baby dolls quickly took top spot.

Bringing different generations together for an afternoon of play always creates a wonderful atmosphere, giving residents and children alike a lovely opportunity to connect and smile.

Off to the races at Winnersh 🎩🏇

Our residents had a great time at their very own Ascot-themed race day! We kicked things off with a high-stakes race to pick out our finest hats, followed by a thrilling hobby horse race featuring horses we named ourselves.

We also tuned in to watch the iconic My Fair Lady Ascot scene, sang our hearts out to "Where Did You Get That Hat?", and even trotted across "newspaper finish lines" at top speed.

Who needs the real Royal Ascot when you have this much fun at home?

A huge thank you to the team from Alertacall who kindly volunteered their time at Abbeyfield House in Barnoldswick recently 💙🧡

Working alongside residents and staff, the volunteers got stuck into weeding, tidying pathways, and replanting various areas.

The day was a massive success, rounded off with a wonderful buffet prepared by Sheltered Housing Manager, Emma, and her team to thank everyone for their hard work.

Hit tracks and high notes at Sandwood Care Home 🧑‍🎤🎶

There was plenty of singing and dancing at Sandwood Care Home during a recent musical afternoon with Mark from ‘The Blighters’.

Mark performed a selection of popular songs, which quickly turned into a wonderful group sing-along for the residents.

Abbey the bear even grabbed the microphone to lead a track. Moments like this highlight how much music and movement benefit older people, giving everyone a chance to enjoy a dance and a laugh together.

Anyone for tennis? Or perhaps a bit of bean bag throwing?🎾

Abbeyfield House in Weston-super-Mare served up a brilliant afternoon as the community gathered for an open mic and special Wimbledon themed event that was a great success.

The highlight of the afternoon's friendly competition was a five-round target game. Carer Claire clinched the top spot, with Worle Lions President Bernadette Robinson and her husband Clive coming in close behind, and tenants Eunice and Ian completing the top five. The day was rounded off with a quick game of tennis and a wonderful spread of homemade scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream.

The American dream comes to Hampton House 🇺🇸 🤠

The team at Hampton House recently organised an American-themed day for the residents, complete with a specially crafted menu of classic favourites.

Everyone gathered in the lounge to enjoy a live performance from singer Gemma Nelson, who kept the room entertained with a selection of classic tracks. Bringing themed days and live music into the house is always a fantastic way to stir up some nostalgia, encourage a bit of dancing, and give everyone a fun afternoon to enjoy together.
