Established in 1956, we provide housing, residential care and support to older people across England. Our range of different housing options help bring people together and foster a sense of security, warmth and belonging, allowing our residents to thrive in the company of others while retaining their independence. This foundation of companionship was one of the motivations for setting up Abbeyfield nearly 70 years ago and remains at the core of what we stand for today. We had a monstrously fun Monday at Lee House! 🧟‍♂️

Residents and staff joined forces to create two fantastic scarecrows to kick off Halloween week.

There were smiles and laughs all around, and by the end of the day, "Bill" and "Fred" were officially named and welcomed into the Lee House family.

A big well done to Justine Owen, our Relations Manager at Speedwell Court in Southampton, who took to the airwaves yesterday to talk about the fantastic work happening at Speedwell Court.

Joining Phil Eldridge on drive time radio, Justine shared how Speedwell Court supports people living with dementia and their loved ones through a range of free monthly community events.

From our dementia café and singing sessions to cinema club and lunch club, these activities provide opportunities for people living with dementia and their carers to come together, enjoy new experiences and connect with others who understand their journey.

We’re incredibly proud of Justine for raising awareness of dementia and highlighting the difference these events make to local people.

🎉🎂 There was a lovely surprise at Sandwood last week as we came together to celebrate a very special milestone – Hannah’s 60th birthday!

As a valued member of our fantastic kitchen team, Hannah helps make Sandwood such a special place, so it was wonderful to celebrate her big day with a cake and plenty of birthday wishes. 🎂💙

At Abbeyfield, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re incredibly grateful for the dedication, hard work and care our team brings every day, and we love taking every opportunity to celebrate them and show just how much they’re appreciated.

Spooky spirits and artistic flair at Downing House 🎃🎨

Things are getting a little spooky around here! We have a new skeleton friend who’s moved in just in time for our Halloween festivities! 😂

This week, our residents stepped into the world of art to learn all about the legendary Pablo Picasso. Inspired by his iconic Cubist style, everyone had a wonderful time creating their very own, delightfully funny Picasso faces.
