CAST Youth Theatre are looking for a freelance youth theatre director/choreographer to work with our award winning Colnbrook based community-run group. Working with up to 30 young people aged 11-18 years, we look to stage a r***e type show during the summer term, before working on an annual full-scale musical throughout the Autumn and Spring terms. Recent shows have included Les Miserables, High School Musical, Beauty and the Beast and Shrek. Sessions run every Monday from 6.30-8.30pm, with some Sunday sessions in the run up to productions.

This talented cast have worked so hard for the last 6 months in order to bring you a very special evening of entertainment you will not want to miss!

CHARITY SINGLE RELEASED TODAY!
Back last summer, we were approached by Gareth Davies to see if our Shepperton youth group would be interested in getting involved with a charity single project he was working on with local artist Sally Kemp. (We had met Gareth previously when he interviewed our Artistic Director Steve for the Sheppertonian podcast).
Sally had been listening to a spokesman for a children’s charity being interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme. The presenter asked him what message he would send to people when they see the terrible images and film footage of hungry and suffering children around the world. He replied “Don’t Look Away”.
Those words stuck in Sally’s head. It is always so easy to do just that; look the other way and get on with our comfortable lives…after all, we all think we’ve got enough problems of our own, don’t we?
Soon afterwards she wrote the song, “Don’t Look Away” and recorded it at her home studio. Gareth has been involved in the final production, including adding the voices and enthusiasm of CYT members to the project.
The final product was officially released this morning and we are all immensely proud of the end result (beware it is quite emotive)!

All proceeds will go to the Save the Children charity, so we hope you will support Sally, CYT and most importantly the charity by buying the song and spreading the word to enable us to do our small bit to help children around the world.

FROZEN ON THE RADIO!
Tune in to Brooklands Radio tomorrow (Thurs 26th Feb) at 6.30pm when Imogen and Seren from our Shepperton group will be chatting to Charlie Cuozzo about their roles in our forthcoming production of Frozen, coming to the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, Walton from 12-14 March.

Calling local costume creatives…..
CAST Youth Theatre, a local community run performing arts group are staging Frozen locally in March and are looking for talented local costume makers to help bring their vision of Sven (the reindeer) and Olaf (the snowman) to life.
It may be something you could take on alone, or perhaps it’s project a few of you could come together to work on?

We’ve had to keep it secret for almost two years, but finally the ‘best kept secret’ in the movie world has been revealed, and we are proud to be able to confirm that the role of Dorothy in Wicked for Good is played by none other than former Shepperton group Choreographer Bethany Weaver!
Beth, seen in the photos with current members of our Shepperton team (Alison Hogan, Nicola Sessions and Ann Whitchurch) during their production of Cats, also worked on other DYT shows including Matilda, the final show before joining the CAST family!
If you are heading to the cinema this weekend, keep your eyes pealed for a glimpse of this iconic character!! Congratulations Bethany!

This is what we were up to in 2016. Who would have thought that 9 years on 2 of the performers that evening would be such an integral part of CAST’s set up today. Gabriella Michell has written and currently directing the main group’s panto ‘The Sword in the Stone’, and Leah Renyard will direct our debut junior’s show ‘Frozen Kids’ which launches this evening.
It’s great to keep it in the CAST family!

SEEKING BUDDING LOCAL YOUNG TALENT
Having recently cast our forthcoming production of Frozen, CAST Youth Theatre (Shepperton) have the capacity to include some additional young performers aged 11-18yrs in the show ensemble, playing a variety of roles including Townspeople�, Staff�, Guards, Hidden Folk, Oaken's Family and Friends & Volunteers.
No prior experience required, just a passion to perform and commitment to work hard!
Rehearsals take place in Shepperton on Tuesdays 5.30-7.30pm, and some Sunday afternoons (generally 2-4pm).
The show will be staged during the week 7-14th March 2026.
