This year, Gardening club has grown potatoes, carrots and onions. We are looking forward to harvesting our peas, radishes, kale and other vegetables in September!

What a hot, sunny July Saturday at Wokingham Waterside Centre for the Southern Area Paddlesports Regatta — and Staines & Egham Sea Cadets delivered an incredible medal haul across multiple disciplines.

Our cadets put in a phenomenal shift on the water, earning:

From sprint power to long‑distance endurance, technical X‑Stream racing to teamwork‑driven polo, our cadets showed skill, determination, and brilliant sportsmanship throughout the day.

A huge thank you to all competitors, instructors, volunteers, and supporters who made the day such a success. The pride in the unit was clear from start to finish — and these results speak volumes.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited and supported our stall at Staines‑upon‑Thames Day yesterday. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped us raise a fantastic amount of funds for the unit, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We were delighted to welcome our local MP Lincoln Jopp, who stopped by for a chat — and even the Minions popped over to say hello, bringing plenty of smiles to the day!

Our cadets, volunteers, and supporters all played a part in making the event such a success. Thank you for showing up, cheering us on, and helping us continue the work we do for young people in our community.

What a phenomenal day for Staines & Egham Sea Cadets. Yesterday, our cadets proudly took part in the National Armed Forces Day Parade, standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with units from across the area and representing our community with absolute professionalism, confidence and spirit.

Armed Forces Day – and the wider Armed Forces Week – is all about honouring the men and women who serve, have served, and continue to protect the United Kingdom at home and overseas. It’s a national moment to recognise their dedication, sacrifice, and the families who support them. Our cadets played their part in that story yesterday, marching in celebration of everything the Armed Forces stand for.

A huge thank you to the Southern Area Sea Cadets for organising such a magnificent event and for capturing the day with brilliant videos. Your hard work gives our cadets memories they’ll carry for life.

To every cadet who took part: you made your unit proud. Your turnout, conduct, and enthusiasm were outstanding.

🇬🇧 Staines & Egham Sea Cadets at the Spelthorne Armed Forces Week Flag Raising

Yesterday our cadets and volunteers proudly attended the Spelthorne Armed Forces Week Flag Raising, standing alongside local organisations, councillors and members of the community to mark the start of this important week of recognition.

Events like this give our young people the chance to show respect, learn about service and sacrifice, and represent the unit with pride. Our cadets did exactly that — smart, engaged and a credit to Staines & Egham.

A huge thank‑you to our amazing volunteers who supported the event and to Spelthorne Borough Council for hosting such a meaningful ceremony.

Bravo Zulu to all who attended. 💙⚓

Armed Forces Week

Spelthorne Borough Council has marked the start of Armed Forces Week with a flag raising ceremony outside its offices in Knowle Green, Staines-upon-Thames.
Armed Forces Week provides the opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets.

Our cadets showed grit, teamwork, and brilliant determination across every race — and the results speak for themselves:

These results mean both our Open teams will now go on to represent Surrey at the Southern Area Rowing Regatta in July — an incredible achievement and a huge moment of pride for the whole unit.

Another brilliant weekend for Staines & Egham Sea Cadets at Surrey District DMACT! ⚓💙

Our cadets and adult volunteers spent the weekend taking part in a range of district‑level training courses — and they absolutely smashed it.

Every cadet showed determination, teamwork and a real willingness to learn. They represented the unit with pride and supported each other throughout the weekend.

A huge Bravo Zulu to all who attended — and an equally big thank‑you to our amazing adult volunteers who gave up their weekend to make this opportunity possible.
