Rough sleepers in England will be offered housing, in a move likened to the “Everyone In” initiative during the pandemic.

A common misconception is that StreetLink provides emergency accommodation or housing directly.

StreetLink is a free service that connects people sleeping rough with the local outreach teams best placed to help. When you submit an alert, it's sent to the relevant outreach service, who will try to locate the individual, assess their needs and offer appropriate support.

Over the past few weeks, we've taken you through what happens after you submit a StreetLink alert. We hope it's shown how a few minutes of your time can help someone sleeping rough access the support they need.

Every detail can make a difference.

When submitting a StreetLink alert, include as much information as you can remember.

Helpful details could include:
• What the person was wearing
• What they look like
• The date and time you saw them
• Any other information that could help identify their location

You don't need to know everything, even small details can help local outreach teams locate someone and offer support.
