Presented in association with Redhills (The Miners' Hall, Durham) and produced by Lonely Tower Film & Media, 'DEFIANT' captures the powerful, human story of the 1984/85 Miners' Strike and the ongoing fight for justice.

Told through the firsthand accounts of local people caught up in the conflict, the documentary reflects on the solidarity, struggle, and enduring legacy of a period that shaped our region forever.

This special evening will feature entertainment, including music from our own Songbirds, fun and games with all proceeds going to the Great North Air Ambulance, a cause close to Hazel’s heart.
