Football Unites-Racism Divides- FURD Football Unites-Racism Divides (FURD) is a youth and social inclusion project and charity ( #1075678 & 1149203) based in Sheffield, England.

‘Football Unites- Racism Divides’ was started in 1995 by a group of Sheffield United fans who were concerned about a number of incidents of racist abuse both in and around the stadium. FURD believes that football can help to bring together people from different backgrounds to play, watch and enjoy the game, and to break down barriers created by ignorance or prejudice. We aim to ensure that everyon

e who plays or watches football can do so in a safe environment, without the fear of racial abuse and harassment, in either a verbal or a physical form. We want to increase the participation of people from ethnic minorities in football, as players, spectators or employee.

Our 11-a-side squad has space for new players! Must have some football experience, support the aims of FURD and be able to commit to training on Wednesday evenings and matches on Sunday afternoons from September to April. Come along to our informal trial sessions on the dates on the poster or email Ruth.
Anyone who fancies playing football without the commitment is welcome at our fun friendly sessions at 6-7pm on Tuesday at U-Mix Centre Sheffield .
