Football Unites-Racism Divides- FURD Football Unites-Racism Divides (FURD) is a youth and social inclusion project and charity ( #1075678 & 1149203) based in Sheffield, England.

‘Football Unites- Racism Divides’ was started in 1995 by a group of Sheffield United fans who were concerned about a number of incidents of racist abuse both in and around the stadium. FURD believes that football can help to bring together people from different backgrounds to play, watch and enjoy the game, and to break down barriers created by ignorance or prejudice. We aim to ensure that everyone who plays or watches football can do so in a safe environment, without the fear of racial abuse and harassment, in either a verbal or a physical form. We want to increase the participation of people from ethnic minorities in football, as players, spectators or employee.

Thank you, Howard, for everything you have done. Your contribution will continue to inspire generations to come.

Thirty years. Thousands of people. One belief: football can bring us together.

Founded in Sheffield in 1996, Football Unites, Racism Divides has spent three decades challenging racism, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities.

This month, we celebrate everyone who has helped shape that journey, with our anniversary dinner on 15 October.

Have you been part of FURD as a participant, volunteer, colleague, partner or supporter? Share a memory below. We’d love to hear it.
