💚💜 Every child deserves a safe start in life.

This week is National Childhood Injury Prevention Week, a reminder that many childhood injuries can be prevented with simple safety measures and the right equipment. 

At Seahaven Baby Bank, we’re proud to help local families by providing items that help keep little ones safe, including:
👶 Stair gates
🚗 Car seats (where available)
🛏️ Travel cots
🪑 Highchairs
🚼 Pushchairs
🛁 Bath seats

We also check donated equipment carefully before it goes to a new home, helping families access safe, good-quality essentials when they need them most.

If you have children’s safety equipment in good condition that your family no longer needs, we’d love to hear from you. Your donation could help keep another local child safe.

Together, we’re supporting families, protecting little ones and giving pre-loved items a new purpose. 💚💜

📣 A quick update about reopening

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to reopen Seahaven Baby Bank next Thursday as we had hoped.

There’s currently no electricity at the Climate Hub, which means we have no lighting in the Baby Bank. The problem isn’t expected to be fixed until the end of next week at the earliest, so for everyone’s safety we need to stay closed a little longer.

We’ll now reopen on Thursday 10 September.

But there is some good news! 💜

When we reopen, we’ll be open for longer:

💜 Thursday: 10am–1pm
💜 Friday: 10am–1pm
💜 Saturday: 10am–1pm

That gives families more time to pop in, browse what we have available and collect anything they need.

We’re sorry for the extra delay and appreciate your patience. We’re looking forward to opening the doors again on Thursday, 10 September and seeing everyone. 💜

Volunteers help every family we support by freely giving their time.

- Sorting donations.
- Building starter packs.
- Checking equipment.
- Listening.
- Giving advice when it's needed.
- Holding babies so the parent or carer can have a look around and choose items
- Welcoming.

💜 MYTH or FACT?
❌ "Baby Banks only help families on benefits."
Not true.

Families come to us for many different reasons.
- A new baby arriving early.
- Illness.
- Job loss.
- Relationship breakdown.
- Domestic abuse.
- Unexpected financial hardship.

Life can change quickly.

We're here so nobody has to face those moments alone.
