🍫✨ Yesterday, we celebrated National Chocolate Éclair Day! ✨🍫

The day was made even sweeter thanks to the fantastic kitchen team at the hospice, who created delicious homemade chocolate éclairs for our patients to enjoy. 💙

As well as treating our patients, delicious chocolate éclairs were available to purchase from a stall outside reception.

A huge thank you to our wonderful kitchen team for all their hard work, and a special thank you to Marie and Jodi for helping to share out the éclairs to our patients and running the stall. We really appreciate your support in making National Chocolate Éclair Day such a sweet success! 🍫🤎

Yesterday's celebration was a wonderful reminder of the community spirit that makes Saint Catherine's so special. The simple act of sharing a sweet treat brought people together, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day possible. 💙

We're looking for raffle prizes to help support some of our upcoming fundraising events at Saint Catherine’s 💛

Whether it's a gift voucher, experience, hamper, bottles, chocolates, treats or something unique, every donation helps us raise vital funds to support local patients and families when they need us most.

If you own a business, work for a company that could help, or have something you'd like to donate, we'd be incredibly grateful.

When Joanne put "meet a donkey" on her wishlist, our Occupational Therapy team set about making it happen. Thanks to Peter, Helen and Ann Rogers, Joanne's wish came true when Jacko the donkey paid a visit to our Castle Suite, In-patient Unit.

What started as a special moment for Joanne soon became a memorable afternoon for many others too. Patients, families, visitors and staff all had the opportunity to meet Jacko, with smiles, laughter and plenty of excitement spreading throughout the unit. ❤️

What a fantastic Wrong Trouser Day today! 🎉👖

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, donned their daftest, brightest and most outrageous trousers, and helped make the day such a success.

There were some truly impressive entries, but after much deliberation, Jon was crowned our Wrong Trouser Day champion! 🏆👏

Jon clearly understood the assignment, arriving for work at Saint Catherine's in a pair of Lidl GB shorts! 💙💛

We're still not sure whether he got confused about where he worked, was hoping to spend his lunch break in the middle aisle, or was secretly trying to pick up a staff discount... but one thing's for sure, his trousers were definitely in the wrong place! 😂

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and helped bring plenty of smiles and laughter to the day. It's moments like these that remind us of the wonderful spirit across our Saint Catherine's community.

We're incredibly grateful to the team at Tesco Superstore Westwood for their generous donation of tea, coffee, buns, strawberries and cream for the upcoming Goathland Open Gardens event this Sunday 🍓☕🍰

Community support like this helps make fundraising events even more special, and we're so thankful for the kindness shown by the store and its colleagues.

Pictured are Donna from Tesco, and Al, our wonderful Mobile Resource Driver collecting the donation on behalf of us for the event. We'd also like to extend our thanks to Store Manager Lewis and the wider team for their support.

Thank You Thursday 💛

A huge thank you to our fantastic parachutists, mother and son Debbie and Matt Beeforth, who took to the skies on 23rd May 2026 for an incredible skydive from 10,000 feet 🪂💙

Despite very real nerves and stepping well outside their comfort zone, Debbie and Matt embraced the challenge together in such a special shared experience, and what an amazing achievement it was!

Debbie has kindly shared these wonderful photos with us, including her brilliant skydive moment which shows just how much she was enjoying it! 📸💛

Together, they have raised an incredible £8,515 + Gift Aid for Saint Catherine’s which is a truly outstanding contribution that will make a real difference to the families we support.

Debbie’s motivation by my brother, John’s, ongoing fight against cancer is incredibly moving and reflects the heart behind this challenge, turning a very personal experience into something positive to help others. As she said herself… “I could’ve just done a cake sale!” 😄💛

Scarborough Rotary 1040 are "Always Where We Need Them To Be" when it comes to supporting Saint Catherine’s 💛

They will once again be collecting in aid of us ahead of The Kooks concert at Scarborough Open Air Theatre TOMORROW (Thurs 18th June) 👏

You’ll find them at the Peasholm Park entrance from 6pm – 8pm before you head "Seaside" for what promises to be a fantastic evening 🎵

And honestly… you’d be "Naive" not to bring along some spare change 😉💛 Supporting Saint Catherine’s is one "Bad Habit" we’re very happy to encourage!
