Mates is a friendly group, where members can meet to try out new activities like wood turning, furniture restoring, model making, restoring an old bike, ceramics, art, coding and robotics or just having a cuppa and a chat. Our aim is reducing social isolation, and building strong community through shared practical activities and sharing of skills.

Scalby Fair 2026 kicks off next Friday 12th June with our ever popular Ceilidh with the wonderful Ceilidh Band The Whippets at Newby and Scalby Community Hall on Scalby Road YO13 0RA. Look who we have appearing at Scalby Fair on 20th June, on the main stage around 11.55am. Only Britain's Got Talent semi finalist Nancy Tilley. Nancy is part of Kellett's Performing Arts who are bringing lots of joy to Scalby Fair this year
